With our academy growing quickly everyday, we require a strong team of mentors to run the programs and make it a smooth sailing ship for our trainees. At the academy, we are always looking for help so if you would like to contribute to our programs, please use this post as a guide to apply to become a mentor. Please review each program and what each program requirements are to become a mentor. You may apply for one at a time, once you've passed 2 months in your role, you can apply for another program. You can only be part of two programs. Overall requirements: - Verified Listener Badge [https://www.7cups.com/forum/ListenerLearningJourney_149/ListenerVerificationProject_1839/NewAdditionalCriteriaToBecomeVerifiedListenerGoingLive_230276/] - Not be a trainee in the program you are applying for. You can graduate and then apply! - No serious behavior reports in the past 3 months - Those in a leadership role already will be given preference! _______________________________________________________________________________ 1. Quality Listening Program - 100+ 1-1 chats - Been a listener for at least 3 months - Priority will be given to QLP Graduates 2. All of these programs require consistent weekly involvement. If you are occupied with other roles or anything else, you might not have the time for these roles. General expectations from all the roles: - Always be open to feedback, be it positive or constructive. We strive on the feedback we are given and will take every opportunity we can to become better. - The roles will require consistent involvement - Quick learner and a team player - Must be comfortable leading group AMAs for the programs - Be a pro-active guide to all our trainees so they can finish the program smoothly - Be flexible and ready to adapt to different needs that you might come around to face - Deliver a good response time to trainees. How Your 7 Cups Volunteering Hours Are Counted
by Hope
Last post
...See more Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well 🤍 Over time, more and more people have been choosing 7 Cups for things like community service, practicum hours, and university requirements.  This post is specifically for those listeners who are doing hours independently as a listener, not through a 7 Cups Academy program.  With that, there has also been some confusion around: * what actually counts as hours * how those hours are calculated * what we can and cannot verify So to make sure everyone is on the same page and to set you up for success from the start, this post walks you through everything you need to know. ------------------------- How your hours are calculated We use the following formula: (Current number of chats – Previous number of chats) ÷ 2 * 2 chats = 1 hour * 1 chat = 30 messages exchanged between you and a member * Both live and offline messages count ------------------------- Where to find your chat count Go to your profile: 7cups.com/@yourusername Make sure your username is entered exactly. Look for 'Chats' ------------------------- If your hours are for official verification (important) If you need your hours verified for a specific timeframe (for example: your university requires hours completed between certain dates), then: 👉 You must reach out to @Hope [https://www.7cups.com/@Hope] before you begin Your starting chat count will be recorded, so we can verify hours within that exact period. Important: * This is only needed if your requirement clearly asks for hours within a specific date range (Example: Your university wants you to do volunteer hours within a specific semester) * If you do this, only chats from that recorded starting point onward will be counted * Any chats completed before that point will not be included 👉 This means: if you don’t actually need timeframe-specific verification, do not request a starting count, as it may reduce your total eligible hours If you do NOT need timeframe-based verification If your requirement is simply to complete a total number of hours (with no strict start date): 👉 You do not need to contact anyone before starting 👉 You can track your hours yourself using your full chat count Example: Your school said to complete 100 volunteering hours without stating when exactly they need to be done.  -------------------------  🔦Before you begin Before starting your placement or logging hours, please make sure you review the full Volunteer Work Verification Guidelines [https://www.7cups.com/forum/listenerjourney/CommunityAdministrationCultureandGuidelines_141/7CupsVolunteerWorkListingVerificationFAQ_225571/] This helps you: * confirm you meet the requirements * avoid issues later when requesting verification ------------------------- Taking a few minutes to go through this before starting helps keep everything clear and avoids issues later on when your hours need to be verified.

...See more Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well. Through our academy surveys and general community interactions, we have identified that most people feel like they can benefit from some form of time management training. The challenge with most time management techniques is that they do not train you to reflect on what really is important and schedule it in a sustainable way. We have found a book that deals with time management as part of your whole interrelated life and is in sync with your principles. I am talking about First Things First, a book by Stephen Covey [https://www.amazon.com/First-Things-Stephen-R-Covey/dp/0684802031]and comes highly recommended by @GlenM We have created a course based on the book. We have summarized the book and converted it into a growth path and quiz. Here is how you can take part! Step 1: Complete the first things first growth path [https://www.7cups.com/path/playlist/first-things-first-by-stephen-covey-under-construction/] Step 2: Implement the teachings of the growth path for a minimum of one week. You will need the practical application to pass the practical part of the quiz. Step 3: Revise the path content before completing the quiz. [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BYJMAqzaAQ2lgInKpUAv6jODuqZdbAVRKDVyYdLus1U/edit]You can skip this part if you feel confident to pass without the revision. Step 4: Submit the time management course quiz. [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfxm8jdvqi3wXzAfoHNia2G85NbSynVE0uSBga0oesXebX9_Q/viewform] S [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfxm8jdvqi3wXzAfoHNia2G85NbSynVE0uSBga0oesXebX9_Q/viewform]tep 5: Let us know that you have completed the steps here! [https://www.7cups.com/forum/BuildingCommunityProgram_208/AcademyPrograms_2311/CelebrateCourseCompletionHere_280719/] All who successfully complete it by scoring at least 17/20 in theory and submitting practical components will receive a certificate and a badge. Note:  If you intend to use Artificial Intelligence tools to help you fulfill any of the course’s requirements, you are expected to adhere to our AI policy. You can read it here. ...See more A Month Growth, Gratitude, Warmth, Community and Celebrating 7 Cups’ 13th Birthday July arrives with bright days, warm energy, and that gentle reminder that growth doesn’t pause just because the world slows down for summer. In the Academy, this month feels like a blend of reflection and momentum — a time when trainees keep showing up with dedication, mentors continue guiding with patience, interns bring fresh curiosity, and leaders hold the space with clarity and care. Growth isn’t always loud — sometimes it’s the quiet consistency, the gentle reminders, the willingness to try again, or the simple act of being there when someone needs clarity or reassurance. And that matters deeply. 🎉🎂💙 July arrives with sunshine, steady growth, and something extra special this year — 7 Cups celebrates its 13th birthday. For thirteen years, this community has been a home for healing, learning, support, kindness, and connection.  Thirteen years of people showing up for one another in ways that truly matter. The Academy carries that legacy forward and reflects that same spirit every day through trainees, mentors, interns, and leaders who bring patience, encouragement, and heart to their roles. July here at 7 Cups is our chance to celebrate and honor the people who helped others feel grounded, supported, and confident during their journey and those who made a difference. 🎉🎂💙   I hope July brings you confidence in your abilities, warmth in your connections, and the courage to keep moving forward at your own pace. I’m grateful for the teamwork, compassion, and dedication that continue to shape this community. And with that, I’m thrilled to announce this month’s nominations. 💡 Quick reminders! 🌟 Rules of nomination: ✔️ The nomination pool includes academy graduates, trainees, and interns.
