Acceptance. The key word is Acceptance. Accept the fact that whatever happened, happened, and it is in the past. Accept that things have changed now and that the two of you can't go back to being what you were. It's true that you will have feelings for him, and that it will make it really hard to not have him in your life; when you get so close with someone, that person becomes an integral part of your life... when he/she isn't there anymore, it feels empty inside. But if you keep denying it, keep denying that things changed, that things didn't work between the two of you and that you can actually get back together, it's only going to make you feel worse, a day at a time. It's tough, and trust me I know, but you got to stay strong, and accept the reality. Also, if it helps, busy your mind with something else, something productive, or something that makes you feel good and happy, like gardening or painting! It will make you feel a lot lot better.
