Understanding why someone chooses to stop talking to you is of course very challenging. People do all sorts of things for so many different reasons, yet ultimately - and sometimes even sadly for us - they are the only ones to know why. You appear to have reached out to him and tried finding out what might have happened. Him not responding to your question appears to have made you feel very uncertain and questioning his actions and ultimately yourself. Reaching out and talking to him about what made him "disappear", so to speak", might seem like the only thing to bring you clarity. Since that might not be possible, I encourage you to talk to someone here about what you are experiencing, and how you might feel better about your situation.

It is possible that he just wasn't ready for a commitment that you were showing him you wanted. It could be that you did nothing wrong and he just wasn't ready. Or something happened in his life that he needs to deal with before he commits to someone. Just wait and see. You can be strong and give him the time he needs or simply give him space and see if he comes back. You don't know if you did something wrong but don't assume you did. Take some time to look back and reflect on your own emotions and clues you may have given him that you were wanting more.
