When I was young my first boyfriend was significantly older than I. My parents did not approve. We were in love and he was most kind and sincere. My mother found out we were together and told me to never see him again. It was a crush to my heart. To this day I still have dreams of being with him.
You dream from your subconscious, things that are on your mind. So you still have feelings for her and even love. The dreams could be a sign that you will get back together, maybe not now, but in the future. Keeping a dream journal is helpful if you can remember the dreams, to write them down. If you wake up after a dream and can write it down in the journal. It will give you a story of what is happening and perhaps whatever your dreams are about may manifest into you getting back together.

Your dream means that you are missing her. Getting over a breakup is often harder than it seems. Dreaming about getting back together is often a sign that you don't have closure, and that she will be staying in your mind for a while. These dreams are completely normal, and they will probably keep returning, but they will fade with time. Change is often difficult to deal with, especially after a breakup. Since you've felt safe in the arms of your significant other, going without them is hard - but slowly, there will be a way to feel safe on your own again. Good luck.
