...See more Arts  & Crafts Community  Posting Guidelines 2024 Hey everyone! it's great to see so many of you posting your artwork, I love seeing it all, but recently we have had a few that include a tagline or other identifying information which I have had to edit out.  I thought it might help to have a few guidelines posted here so that you can all read and see what is acceptable. Please read the following as posts that do not adhere will be edited or removed. ✅ Please ensure you edit out all identifying names, taglines, or social media addresses (even if abbreviated).  ✅ Please try and keep all your work in one thread rather than starting a new one each time. Mystery Pattern Sharing! (Crochet).
by TheCrew4887
Last post
November 13th
...See more Mystery Patterns are patterns for a crochet project that the crocheter doesn't know what it'll end up as until they're done. I usually see this done with amigurumi, but anything works! The patterns are usually released in sections over several days or even weeks to keep it fun and keep the suspense.  If you join, I have some optional rules to help keep it more fun for everyone else! 1. Make sure to list the estimated yardage needed and the colors needed to make it work best 2. Include instructions for special stitches (Bubble stitch, etc).  Typical Rules:  * Step-by-step releases: The pattern is divided into sections, and each part is released periodically—sometimes over several weeks or months. * No spoilers: Participants are encouraged not to spoil the outcome for others, maintaining the mystery and excitement. * Interactive community: These projects often foster a sense of community, as crocheters share their progress, ask questions, and help each other out while following the mystery pattern. * Variety of designs: Mystery crochet patterns can range from small accessories (like scarves or shawls) to larger projects (like blankets or garments). They can also be stuffed animals or appliques.

...See more I have been dubbed the king of yarn, and by request of @theboymoana I have created a space for my crochet work  I've been crocheting for literally a week 🤣🤣🤣🤣 This is a stingray purse I made myself, I'm still working on the strap.  I also made my sister a mini amigurimi hippo [amigurimi just means Crocheted stuffed anima] and right now I am working on a cow. I'm waiting for a picture of her hippo so heres the cow hoof. It's going to be green and white  Sorry if the pics are blurry, my blood sugar is a tad low so I'm shakey.  Update my sister hasn't sent me the pic yet so I'll just post it later lol!

Basic Crochet Ornament Pattern
by EmotionsListener
Last post
December 3rd, 2023
...See more Well last week we made some crochet snow people, this week I thought we could crochet something for the tree. (It also makes a great cat toy, just ask my cats!) [Image consists of a crochet ornament.] Basic Crochet Ornament (Beginner) Materials: * Small crochet hook (approx 3.5mm) * Stitch marker * Worsted weight yarn (a 3 or 4) in main colour(s) and accent colours * Large eye yarn needle * Ribbon or hook for hanging (optional) * (Patience!) Abbreviations: (US terminology) st = stitch sc= single crochet inc = increase (2 sc into single stitch) dec =invisible decrease (sc 2 stitches together) [number]= total number of stitches in each round This pattern is not worked in continuous rounds, use a stitch marker to mark the start of each round. Ornament Sections - Basic circle (Make 6 in main colour(s)) Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring, slip stitch to join round [6] Rnd 2: chain 2 (counts as first sc),inc in each stitch repeat around, slip stitch into top of beginning  chain 2 to join the round. [12] Rnd 3: chain 2 (counts as first sc) *inc in first stitch, sc in next stitch, repeat from * around, slip stitch into top of beginning  chain 2 to join the round. [18] Rnd 4: chain 2 (counts as first sc) *inc in first stitch, sc in next 2 stitches, repeat from * around, slip stitch into top of beginning  chain 2 to join the round. [24] Rnd 5: chain 2 (counts as first sc) *inc in first stitch, sc in next 3 stitches, repeat from * around, slip stitch into top of beginning  chain 2 to join the round. [30] Fasten off. Once you have all 6 sections completed it’s time to assemble your ornament. Assembly  * Using your accent colour, take ornament sections 1 and 2 and lay them with wrong sides together, align outer stitches, crochet together 15 of the 30 stitches along one edge, fasten off.  * Taking ornament section 3, folding back the unfinished half of the original sections, line up the edge of section 2 and section 3 with wrong sides together and crochet the remaining 15 stitches of section 2 to 15 stitches of section 3. * Repeat adding each section as in step 2 until all 6 ornament sections have been connected. * Line up ornament section 6 with ornament section 1 and stitch together the remaining 15 stitches of each.  * At this point your ornament will be nearly done, tuck all yarn tails inside, using a large eye yarn needle and a piece of accent colour yarn, stitch closed the bottom and top of the ornament. Pull tight, fasten off and work in ends. * To finish, add a hook, tie or ribbon to the top of the ornament for hanging. Now that you have a basic pattern, let your imagination take it to the next level. You can make it more interesting in a number of ways. Maybe you'll make your ornament segments larger by adding another row of increases? Will you choose to make your ornament sections in multiple colours, or work each round of the basic circle in a different colour? Do you have a metallic yarn to use for edging? Perhaps add a decorative edge to your seams? Add some beads or sequins for sparkle? It’s all up to you! [Image consists of evergreen branches with gold beads.] Going to try out this pattern? Share your results with us and hang your ornaments here in our virtual tree where we all can see! Maybe you even have another pattern we can all try? Would you like to be added to our tag list?
