🌹 Welcome to August: Celebrating Resilience & Hope! 🌹

...See more "You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it." — Maya Angelou To Our Newcomers: A warm, heartfelt welcome to you! We're so glad you're here and part of our caring community. Whether you're seeking support, connection, or a safe space to share, you belong here. ♥️  To Our Returning Members: It’s wonderful to have you back! Your presence and kindness make this community stronger. Thank you for being here.  ❤️ This August, we honor Never Give Up Day (August 18th), a reminder of the incredible strength we carry, even on the hardest days. Let’s celebrate resilience, hope, and the power of lifting each other up.   🌈 Monthly Prompts & Activities: 1️⃣ Share Your Comeback Story – Tell us about a time you kept going, even when things felt impossible. Your strength inspires others!   2️⃣ Encourage a Fellow Member – Leave a kind note or supportive message for someone who might need a boost.   3️⃣ Self-Care Challenge – Try one small act of self-kindness each day (e.g., a walk, journaling, or a mindful break).   4️⃣ Never Give Up Playlist – Share songs that motivate you to push through hard times.   Let’s make this month a reminder that no one walks alone. Every step forward—no matter how small, is worth celebrating. We’re so grateful you’re here with us! ♥️  Gentle Reminder: You matter. You’re valued. And you’re never alone. 🌹

A Belated Welcome to May: Mental Health Awareness Month 💚
by Angelanj

...See more "Little by little, a little becomes a lot." – Tanzanian Proverb 🌱 Hello everyone, Welcome to newcomers and returning members of the depression support community. Whether you just joined or are coming back after time away, you belong here. 💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month. First, I want to sincerely apologize for this late post. This month carries such an important message, and it's one worth sharing no matter the date. Even as we move further into the month, the focus remains the same: the courage to keep going, the power of small actions, and the hope that tiny joys can still reach us. This month's prompt: Create a Dopamine Menu 🍏: What is a Dopamine Menu? A Dopamenu is a simple tool to help you boost your mood and motivation. Just like a food menu, it gives you choices. You pick activities based on how much time and energy you have. The goal is to help your brain release dopamine or the "feel-good" chemical, without pressure or perfection. Blank Template : Example of Dopamenu 🍈: How to Use your Dopamine Menu : Step 1: Print or save the blank template. Step 2: Fill in each section with your own ideas. Use the example for inspiration. Step 3: When you feel stuck, pick one thing from your menu. Start with a Starter if you're really low. Step 4: Do it. No pressure to finish. No guilt if you stop early. Step 5: Repeat whenever you need a boost. Feel free to share your Dopamine Menu in the comments! Sending love and light, Angelanj

...See more It's normal for people to feel down but not being able to get up and even move is a severe sign. If you were able to get out of bed, move around, brush your teeth and comb your hair, I guess you're right on track. Tell me who combed their hair today!

...See more The way I compensate for my depression is by spending all my free time doing fun things to try to boost my mood. In grade school it was a variety of fun activities, but its been impossible to get people to go out and do things with me since I finished high school. So now I spend all my free time at home trying to make myself happy (or at least okay), and gaming seems to work the best. Do any of you do that too? I think it would be more effective if I wasnt alone though, so if anyone wants to connect on Steam or Kongregate let me know. For multiplayer games I usually play Survival or RPGs, like ARK, Savage Lands, Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, Dofus/Wakfu, et cetera. I usually just play singleplayer or singleplayer games though because people online usually just troll me and make me feel worse, so Im hoping I can meet some people to play with who arent going to do that.

...See more Hello everyone! My name is Cassie and I have been a Therapist for 17 years and have been on 7 Cups for almost five months now. In that time I have spent most of it with clients who sign up to speak to a therapist. However, when this new role came up I knew it was something I wanted to try. Depression and its buddy, Anxiety, are probably the two main reasons that someone seeks out therapy. There are other versions/combinations/reasons, but these are the most common. So it seemed a natural fit to what I walk others through everyday. My role in here is to help you so what I am interested in, is what you are. So what type of topics would you like to hear from me? Let me know and I will do my best to share some of my small bit of experience through helping others in this journey with you.

We hope that you can find some respite here from what you're going through. We all help each other through the darkness. Welcome, friends, to the Depression Support Community at 7 Cups. We're so happy you're here <3
