Where do you draw the line emotionally? 💗

Hi sweet Cupsers (*˘︶˘*).。*♡

💌 This is inspired by @Heather225 ’s April challenge post 💌

img-20260402-034112_1775081502.jpg

Sometimes we carry other ppl’s emotions without even realizing it. a conversation, a post, or even a few words can stay in our mind longer than we expect.

I’ve started to understand that it’s important to pause, step back, and not let everything sit inside me. Even a small break, or distracting myself for a bit, helps me reset.

Being there for others matters, but so does protecting ur own peace. you can care without carrying everything.

How do you separate your feelings from others??!! :)

What a wonderful post 💙

Empathy is key.

But do is preserving your own energy.

You cannot be everything all the time.

All you can do is your best

And when you know deep in your heart, that this is your intention, then this is all that matters 💙

Your feelings are relevant too and sometimes you have to choose you 💙

As an empath, i understand exactly what you are saying. 🥹💙

👉 Having a clear picture of who or what i absolutely do not want to feel helps me. Because if i lend an ear to their story i will end up agreeing with them, so I try to see the bigger picture beforehand and choose whether or not to interact with them ✨️✨️

I can't even remember how I started to care without losing myself in someone else's issues. I've always been the listener, people flock to me and I feel for their pain but I have my own issues so I started giving support but afterwards I felt like they had the strength to carry it alone or seek further help from someone else.

Plus it took me a while to realise, I was only hearing their version not the whole story. I think that helped.

We all have our own needs too, that are important and by not carrying someone else's burdens, we can manage our own easier, otherwise, it's burnout and heaviness and suffocation.

This makes a lot of sense, especially the part about only hearing one side. It’s something I didn’t think about much before. The part about not carrying everything to avoid burnout is so important Thank you for sharing this 😊

@Ailuraphilelove8tear9 You're welcome:) It puts it into perspective and it's easier to detach.

I'm not well supported so I cannot be weighed down by someone else's life but I can still be there in the moment fully but when it passes, I've moved on too.

I’ve struggle with this a lot. A former friend of mine, got to a point of no return. I am at peace, in now maintaining boundaries, but wish I could have done sooner. Could have not only protected my peace but prevented certain incidents, in which these people put me at harms way or danger. Yes, one friend; did put both myself and her at risk. I’m, realizing now that I can’t cure nor provide much support for others. And my family dynamic, has conditioned me to not implement boundaries and be more agreeable. Sometimes, saying no does more; it communicates that they need to change or stop. I’m thankful, that recently I was able to put up boundaries prior. While, I do hope for the best for them; I would be doing more harm in; not speaking up and just going along.

I have to speak what is on my mind.  I always try to think about what I'm going to say if it is an emotional subject.

For me, at least until now its an amazing and fullfeeling job because I help people online with no money. And I love that. I m kind of used to people telling me a lot of their personal stuff (weather problems or anything else) and like, I dont mind. I take them in my heart, make them my problems, empathize with them, give them a solution and let them go until I speak with an other person (or the same one) and its take them back and do the same.

How do you separate your feelings from others??

One thing that helps me is to remember that it doesn't help the other person if I hold on to their feelings. In fact it can hinder or harm them.

If I'm overwhelmed by someone else's feelings, I become incapacitated, and unable to give such effective help.

I also take away their ownership of their own feelings. Their feelings are their responsibility, not mine. If I take responsibility for someone else's feelings on myself, then they will find it much harder to learn to be responsible for their own feelings.

Remembering that it's not actually the kindness that it seems, can help me to only take responsibility for my own feelings.

I don't have any feelings for anyone but my kids. I am lost, alone, always depressed and anxious about everything.

Thanks @Ailuraphilelove8tear9 ✨🙏🏽✨

I find it so difficult… to separate, because I truly care and I am there for others

I do wish there would be someone there for me to, someone that cares as much as I do✨

@EnlightenedArtist

You're welcome <3 😊

I get what you mean, it’s really hard to separate when you genuinely care, it’s not easy to draw that line when your heart is fully in it. But you deserve to be supported and cared for just as much 🤍✨

Hugs 🤗
