Collecting
🍁 Hello everyone, hope you are having a wonderful day.
One of the many uplifting activities is collecting things. I, personally, collect pistachio shells and then make artworks using them as a hobby.
Question: What do you collect or would like to collect in the future? Why?
❤ Tag at least 3 people to know what they collect.

Hi Verse, cool post! When I was younger I collected stamps and dolls 😁
One day, my niece got an assignment from school to collect something, and I gave it all hehe... She took a shortcut to finish the assignment xD
And the dolls went to another niece.
Right now, I'm interested in collecting Coca-cola puzzles. I did 2, framed and hang them as wall decor 😁 and I may copy you to collect things for artwork hehe..
Tagging: @RideARainbow wondering if you like to collect things hehe...

@GoldenRuleJG
Hi Rule! 😊❤️ Many thanks for the tag! I really must say this totally fits into my "wheel house"!
I too enjoy collecting antiques! I have found many a treasure in the most interesting of places, purchases on the cheap, things others simply didn't see the value in and they wanted to discard them. If it was appropriate and wouldn't lower the value of the antique, I have refinished them and some things I have allowed to stand on their own without refinishing. For me, with my decorating style, I simply like what I like. So it isn't always about how much the antique is worth in dollars, but what is the "perceived value" to me.
It's kind of laughable how many beautiful and expensive pieces I have in my home. But again, it's not about what it's worth, it's what it means to me. I haven't even gone through the effort to have someone come in and photograph, give me a dollar value on each piece and then from that information have it insured. Just grateful that beautiful things presented themselves to me, when they did. big *hugs* ❤️
Hello @SparkyGizmo ❤
Oh wow! This is so awesome. I always love it when I can see the individual ideas of a person being represented in their house. It tells a lot about that person. 😊 I agree the dollar value is nothing compared to the 'perceived value' for us. I'm sure your house is full of beautiful pieces of history. Keep collecting! xD
Thank you so much for sharing your collection with us. Have a beautiful day ahead! 💛 *Hugs* 💙
@VerseArt
Hi Art! 😊❤️ And many thanks for the amazing forum post as well as your tag! You see things as I see things! I too think it's really interesting when you are invited into someone's home, and the things that they have and their decorating style really does tell a "story" about the person!
Some objects can become conversation pieces. Some things handed down from one generation to another and being given a position of honor in the home and truly elevated with the spirit of intentionality. Worthless to some, perceived value to others can be utterly priceless based on sentimental value.
I love the concept of "your home should rise up to meet you". We certainly do spend an inordinate amount of time in our homes. I love looking at it in the way of it will evolve over time. Seeing it as a journey and one that really does tell a story and can be quite meaningful to the people that live there.
I read a book once and it was amazing. Not certain if this is the correct title but it was something like "What our stuff says about us". It really spoke of what people do, how people do it, and why, how items are positioned and even photographs and even if one chooses, tattoos placed on the body. Fascinating! *hugs* ❤️
Hello @SparkyGizmo ❤
Yes, it's fascinating to walk into someone's home and look around objects that are significant to them and hold a special place in their heart.
Even though objects are non-living, they do tell a vivid story about us. 🍁
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely thoughts with us. It's great to know them. *Hugs* 💙
@SparkyGizmo
That's awesome Gizmo!!! We all collect badges 😉- i should have put that down too :) Hope you are doing well <3

Hello @VerseArt
Great post 😊
So I've always been a collector of things lol
When I was a kid I collected trading cards all kinds I still have some of my folders left. I collect stamps, coins, crystals and sneakers. 💜
@VerseArt
Hey Hey Verse, I hope you're doing well and having a wonderful week so far ❤
This is an interesting question and yay I like the idea being creative with pistachio shells ~ I've seen those before and they are utterly adorable hehe ! And you're welcome to share pictures of your awesome creations too :P
I always wonder how do people really hold those teeny shells lol , seems like quite a work of patience :D
I like(d) to collect keychains tooo , *high fives* @Xe ... some I find so beautiful that I can't bring myself to attach them to a regular key in use lol , so they are all kept safe and shiny in a box :D
Besides something tangible, I like to also "collect" moments ~ something like taking mental notes and pictures of people, places, experiences ! ❤

This is a very interesting and fun question. Thank you for coming up with this and thank you @Sunisshiningandsoareyou for tagging me.
I collect so many things actually, like shells, pebbles, pinecorns, fridge magnets, postcards, etc. Just to remember those memories, especially from travelling.

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou @Verseart
I enjoy scrapbook making so I collect a lot of little treasures to add to my pages. It could be anything from tickets for an attraction we've visited to flower petals from a wedding I attended. I also have a ton of refrigerator magnets from places we've been.
Hello @Sunisshiningandsoareyou ❤
I'm doing well, thank you! How are you? I'm glad you found the post interesting!
Yeah, I love the process of eating pistachios and then saving enough to make an art piece. It requires patience, but it's super fun!! :D
I love keychains too and yes, I do not use the most precious ones to me. They are kept safe and they don't see the daylight xD
Aww, collecting moments is so niceee. ✨
Thank you so much for sharing your collection with us. Have a lovely day ahead! 💛
