Member Sharing Circle Updates
Hello Community,
Here are some interesting insights to check based on the input we received from the community through the survey we rolled out earlier.
Based on community feedback, we are making the following changes:
2 New Sessions: We are adding two new sessions at 6.00 AM and 10.00 AM Eastern Time! We believe it will make it easier for anyone to join these sessions without waiting for long. As we heard that some members find it hard to participate in these sessions.
Switching Session Time: Without a break, we are running 7.00 PM & 8.00 PM Eastern Time Sessions. So we are making a minor change to it. We are switching the 7.00 PM session to a 6.00 PM slot. It was one of the feedback we received in the survey as well as thankful to our Support Team Leaders: @cheerfulrose & cheerymango to make the suggestion.
Criteria to be an SC Host dropped: Considering how we are expanding, we need a bigger team to ensure host coverage of the sessions. So, we made the criteria flexible and easier. Now, to be a host, one needs to have the following:
- Watch a demo video of sharing circle (from host view)
- Read and understand the SC Hosting Guidelines
- Go through Sharing Circle Script
- Apply to become a host
If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to:
- Adult Hosts: CheeryMango & CheerfulRose (Support Team Leaders)
- Teen Hosts: Hope (Teen Community Manager)
On Spot Host/ Backup Host: If there is no assigned host for a session, anyone from the community who is willing to host can step up and lead the session! All you would need to do is quickly go through the SC Hosting Guidelines & Sharing Circle Script. Reminder: Be respectful and have patience with everyone while you host the session.
SC Host Log: All hosts are required to fill this log to submit their hosting record for a session. The log will be used to award some cheers as a token of gratitude. The community will be grateful for your compassionate support and hosting.
All the changes and improvements we are making--and will continue to make--are to meet community needs and demands. We hope you all have wonderful experiences with these sessions.

I, of course, did get the original 'please fill out survey' notifications and later the 'followup how all y'all responded' notes (like this one). I *think* I can still get into the survey to add my 2cents but I'm unsure if it would help at all. Can we still fill out the original survey? Or are we going to go with these changes here mentioned for a while .... then have another survey?
As these 'support circles' are not at every hour - is there somewhere (Community Calendar?) or somehow I can figure out or copy/paste the schedule direct into personal notes? I am usually at 7cups.com every day, but definitely not at the same time every day. And there are some days where I need a Support Circle about as much as the Road Runner needs another Acme anvil to the head! Other days quite the opposite.
Thank you for sharing the "results" ... well and thanks for asking for our feedback (M) and (L) about these 1 hour meetings in the first place! :)

Sounds great to have these extra times. Are they just changes for oldies or does the 6am and 10am count for the teens as well?
@ASilentObserver ok so I have to cancel my two 6pm discussion, because i already struggle to have people in my discussions, and sharing circles will just make it worse. thank you so much for doing it without checking if there was other events at the same time frame,,,, wow....
@vivelespatates I think that I once attended a discussion that you did and it was really good. It will be sad if it has to get cancelled. I would say that I could take over but I would only be able to do school holidays or at the weekend.
@ASilentObserver thank you for the update. I am hosting the 7pm sharing circle today, so would I be hosting it at 6pm instead?

Hi thank you for this feedback you given us. My only concern is this...the time change you all decided on. I lead 5 Teen SC weekly from 7pm to 7pm MT. Does that mean I can no longer do mine now?? No one asked us can we lead at these different times either. I enjoy my discussions with the teens and want to continuw but my times have to stay the same

Thank you Affy - you have written my question/thought much more concisely and hopefully clearly :) That is what I meant too, Obs - somewhere to find the times really quickly. This way I could know if I'm stepping into the middle of a circle time before I would actually step into it!
@vivelesplates (not sure if I spelled your username right here) I can understand your frustration I think. If I were doing a meeting at a certain hour (or five!) each day or each week ... and suddenly the (how do we name....) the Leadership changed the days or times or weeks or AHHHHHH - I be like umm no thank you. Take care, Vive. I'm glad you could vent here a little bit. ((safe hug, or scrumptious fudge, for you!))
