Phased Chat 2.0: Improvement Updates
Hi Community,
Thank you to those of you that tried out Chat 2.0 and shared your feedback, suggestions, and any issues that were faced. It was a week of great community work from everyone and we appreciate the support. We are glad that many of you are enjoying the new version and our aim is for it to offer a seamless user experience to everyone in the community.
Chat 2.0 is not fully available to everyone yet but will be in the coming days.
We want you to be informed of the updates and improvements to Chat 2.0 we made this week in response to feedback and suggestions. Your feedback has been invaluable to us and we’ve reviewed all of it. Remember that it's not possible to implement everything requested but we’ve tried our best to focus on shared issues. The team has been working tirelessly to make Chat 2.0 even better.
Here are some of the key fixes included:
- Updated layout of message bubbles to fit more messages in the screen window without scrolling
- Fixed “New message” blinking alert in browser tabs for 1-1 and group chats
- Added L/M/T identifiers to the chat list
- Fixed list of participants module not hyperlinking to profiles
- Fixed PM’ing directly from a profile page
- Updated the chat history functionality
- Fixed messages not always appearing after being sent
- Worked on lag and slowness
- …and many more!
We hope that these updates will make your experience with Chat 2.0 better. We are committed to providing you with a great user experience, and we welcome your feedback and suggestions for future improvements. There are many other fixes that are being worked on in the background and will be shared soon.
Also, a special shout out and thank you to all who helped us with testing fixes and giving more feedback to us to make it better. We are glad that we are working together to support each other better.

Thanks for the update! I just wanted to let you know that for some reason, listeners cannot decline a personal request. If you hit the decline button, nothing happens. Sometimes I am on and my personal requests pile up and I can't decline them so they can go ahead and find another listener. This was never an issue before. Can you please fix it? It's been really bugging me a lot. We should be able to decline if we need to. I also asked some other listeners and they seem to be having the same troubles. Thx!

This should now be fixed in the chat 2.0 version. Which all users will have access to very soon.

im really take you guys fixed that chat bubbles, it was one of the things that made the new update very un usable for me, thanks for listening to the community with the updates, means a lot 💜

i think fur group chats the chat info should still be where it was before, now the general message area is toner which still causes more scrolling which kinda sucks but lots better
I noticed that it no longer says when people enter the chat room. Which is ok if you want to lurk but makes it harder to know who's in the chat and some people wait to be greeted before participating. Is this planned or a glitch?

the try 2.0 thing is vile. It’s on very chat and makes it impossible to focus on it. I get you’re trying to push it but ther is so many issues with it still. And most of the community that constantly uses rooms doesn’t like it. Sure it can be there and you press it and try then don’t like it should go away. Not constantly stay and make it impossible to use 1.0 . I don’t get why you guys are doing that

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou Yeah I was told that it's something to do with optimising performance by not receiving live updates on inactive tabs after approx 20 mins of no clicks.

It's still there but doesn't make much sense as we keep exiting the prompt anyway (': except for the lag I experience on the tab that has likely been inactive for some time, as I tend to multi-task sometimes on here, with multiple tabs open! 😅

Hello, I got moved to version 2.0 and cannot revert back to 1.0. When people message me, it is not made clear who messaged me. It's kind of confusing. Are you able to fix that? Also their statuses are no longer there. So the green and red and orange status are all gone. Instead there's an arrow only besides each members name and I have no idea if they are on or not or busy. Is anyone else having this issue? I would like to know the status at least. And every time I open the chats on my phone, I am always brought to Noni first and then select chats. It's kind of frustrating. Please fix these issues. Thanks

Getting to Noni's each time and then seeing conversations/ chats is so much more complicated, involving more clicks than earlier, which I see as a step back from accessibility and convenience!
I agree, again, status colors/ buttons used to serve a purpose and I'd like to see them back also!
