Hi team,
We know that there has been a surge in forum spam. We are very sorry about that! About 2 weeks ago, we launched the ability verify your email as a member. We are now working on the next phase of this update, which would be to make it compulsary to to verify your email prior to posting on the forums for the first time. Our hope is that this will help reduce spam.
The date of this update is still TBA. But it is in development and we are working building this functionality as we speak. I wanted to give you this update to let you know, we hear you and we are actively working to get a solution in place.

What about the existing members that habitually post spam to the forums?
Is there a system going in place to address this behavior?
Just curious - just like others above, I've filtered and flagged tons of post while trying to find legitimate post that need reply.

existing member accounts that are spamming can be emailed to info@7cups.com with the username and screenshot of the offending behavior :)

I've noticed some repeat offenders - and they are quite far along in the Steps but I've also seen them actually post real post too.

Just thought of a question! Now that the verification process is live, what are guests / non-verified members able to do?
I never really knew the extent of their abilities beforehand, thought Im guessing Guest and non-verified Member accounts have VERY similar permissions.

Guests can view the forums, view some group support rooms, and take chats with online listeners. They cannot send messages on the forums or group support room, or to listeners who are busy/offline.
Unverified members (starting now) can interact in group support rooms and take chats with listeners. The only things tied to verification at the moment are profile pictures and posting in the forums. To my knowledge, this only affects accounts going forward :) Hope that helps!
@MonBon To add on, currently there is no group room (on the adult side anyway) where guests can actually chat. They can read some of them though. In order to send messages someone has to be a member.
Members are able to leave offline messages for a listener they haven't chatted with before. Guests can only pick their listener with those who have a status set to online, they cannot leave a message with a (new to them) listener whose status is busy/offline.
Currently, these capabilities are the same for members with and without a verified email address.

hi. Im trying to verify too. I cant chat or do anything on here for the time being. I can read messages I get sent. But I cant reply to people who are currently seeking help. I dont want them to think Im ignoring them. How do we verify with success?

This should not be affecting you. Verification does not affect sending chat messages, and even if it did, your account should not be affected by it. Only member accounts made as of the implentation will be affected. I would suggest submitting a bug report :)
