May 6: Photos Added to Q&A Pages/ Your Help Needed!
We've made a small update to the Q&A pages! We want to add more life and color to our Q&A pages!
We've added the option to add photos to each question. This means, you can go to each Q&A page and upload a picture which represents that question.
All of the pictures that are uploaded will be approved prior to being displayed.
We encourage you all to upload some pictures & give these pages a little more life!
Here are the steps on how to help:
1) Go to the main Q&A page here: https://www.7cups.com/qa/
2) Select a topic you'd like to help out with & click through to the corresponding page!
2) Review the question list! Find a question you'd like to share a picture on.
3) Click through to that questions' page!
ex. How do I get help when I don't have anyone?
4) If that question does NOT have a picture yet, you will see a box on the top left corner inviting you to upload a corresponding picture. The box looks like this:
5) Upload a picture that best represents that question!
6) Your picture will be submitted for approval. You will see it approved on the page within 24 - 48 hours.

This sounds like a wonderful idea, and hopefully I can help find some corresponding images. My question is; do the images need to be pre-cut to a certain size or will the mods do that after if they feel the image is right for the question but just a little too big for the page?

As far as i am aware, they do not need to be precut :)
@Laura What is the plan for making the categories of this section correct? Is having pictures on these going to make that process more difficult?

It would be better if you we could upload using image URLs. I don't fancy saving loads of images for questions.
Any guidelines for photo hunters so that copyright owners' rights aren't infringed upon?

To be more clear on your question, copyright free images are ideal, and images where youre not sure are ok but if someone asks for it to be taken down and has a legit claim we would do that. And nobody should go and grab a picture that is protected.
Additionally, we ask that no pictures have watermarks from their copyright owners on them.

This is not cool, in my opinion. If you're unsure, No should mean No. Unsure does not equal Yes. Let's foster a culture of doing the right thing. Not doing what everyone else does on the internet so it must be ok.
Just my humble opinion as a photographer, content creator, copyright owner, and kitty with bills to pay.

Is it looking for photos of an uplifting nature or something that represents and displays the emotion?
@XiTalksSoft I think it would be sensible to get permission first, or maybe search through Creative Commons for images with no copyright limitations. Good cause or not, photographers/artists work hard for their money and product.

To which I'll add, Good cause or not, using a copyrighted photo without the copyright owner's consent is stealing.
