@trueconfidant123
that all my problems were my fault and also that a lot of them actually were. I feel like I’ve hurt myself and my loved ones through all the help I’ve needed and thinking I’m on the other side and realizing there will always be challenges to face but I’m not the only one going through them. Though I also have learned I need to “put my oxygen mask on first” because trying to help people because they know I’ve gotten help seems to set me and my loved ones back. Lots of illusions are breaking and the healing is beautiful but it also has some not so pretty moments.
@intellectualBeach7973
Hey you, brave soul. Your comment shines with self realisation and enlightenment you've achieved during the process of healing. You know it wasn't your fault that you needed help. You haven't taken the support for granted. You understand it's important to give back but not at the cost of your mental sanity. All of this is worth a thousand claps. So, kudos to you!

@trueconfidant123 I used to believe that parents always love their children—maybe not unconditionally but at least sincerely. And that no parent would ever compete with their own child. But both of mine do. It genuinely feels like they enjoy watching me stumble.
Maybe it’s not even a “parent” thing—it’s a narcissist thing. They don’t see me as their daughter... they see me as competition. My mom’s been like this since I was a kid—always in some rivalry. But my dad got competitive with me later in life. Now he constantly compares himself to me. If I make a mistake, he’ll brag about how he would’ve never been that stupid. And when I do something well—like get good grades in college (which, yes, he pays for)—he gets weirdly cold, like my success somehow threatens him. But he also hate if I don't get good grades and embarrass him. (it is a thin line. It is like ..I should win the rest against everyone but I should never break the record he had set.
I’ve always wondered… most parents compare their kids to other kids or siblings. Why can’t mine just do that instead of turning everything into some twisted scoreboard? They see me as a threat lol.It’s wild, honestly—because I’m barely 5 feet tall and I don’t even have a job yet 😭
@azurePond I'm sorry you're being treated this way.. frankly I've never liked the idea of competition... because every path is unique... we are all meant to be supports for each other ..
I faced a lot of competitive vibes in high school - it was oppressive almost - and it just made me connect to my light - in the sense that I realised who i was - ambitious but non competitive .... I would endeavor never to give that pain to anyone because I knew how that felt.. and today as I look back i feel good about myself even if i couldnt cope then and made many lapses.. it was starting point of self awareness and self development . I hope those kids would have grown too by now ...
I've had some selfish behavior from parents as well.... and its been very very tough growing up because i couldn't make sense of things. But now in my late 30s , I just see parents as people with their own demons to fight. They too have a lot to learn from life like kids.. We are placed together by circumstance for some mutual spiritual benefit. Through my journey -- I learnt to reflect on right/wrong in me and in others, exhibit forgiveness, courage, gratitude, compassion, tolerance, patience ... perhaps that was the big purpose all about. And it makes me content.
Sorry if Im going off topic... I have this tendency ...
You sound so sweet - im positive you'll find your peace . ✨️
Lots of love ❤️
@azurePond And no its not fair that adults compete with kids! Maybe they see it as a way to push you to work harder - but I dont agree with such methods even if we suppose good intentions behind them. Its just showing parents suffering from their own inadequacies and working on filling those at the expense of the weaker party: a child - even their own! It happens though 😕
@azurePond my father still believes that if I have any social respect, its only because I am his daughter ... my values, personality, nature has nothing to do with my likability ... magnificent delusions ð¤£
@Creamyyy Oh... I so get that. My dad once told me not to influence my sister , according to him, I’m only related to my sister through him. Yep—he actually said that. Since she is my sister only because of him.... I shouldn’t interfere when he is talking to his daughter.
And because I’m a sarcastic lil sh!t I said "Pretty sure me and my sis share the same mom. You weren’t a hermaphrodite… right?"
because I wasn’t even "influencing". I had literally just sat down and listened to my sibling vent.
@Creamyyy Oh no... I definitely know why they compete with me… and trust me, it’s not because they’re trying to help me grow 🤣 Honestly, I do feel sad for them—because I understand why they turned out the way they did. But at the same time, I’m not sad enough to just forgive and forget everything. Because I was kid too.
Absolutely. Forgiving and forgetting can't happen when the kid in you is hurting from being denied what was your right to have .... you will find love from other sources and have your unmet needs compensated for and heal in time... we all will... ❤️
@Creamyyy Thank you. I’m lucky to have so many sources of love in my life... including the amazing people from 7cups, to whom I’m truly grateful.
@Creamyyy Thank you so much for this deeply thoughtful message — it truly means a lot. I could feel the wisdom and tenderness in every word. What you said about being ambitious but non-competitive- that is a very admirable trait. But the thing is I am very competitive too... maybe its a toxic trait. And yes... those early wounds — whether from peers or parents — do leave their marks but it’s beautiful how you’ve transformed them into insight and empathy. You didn’t go off topic at all — in fact, your words came exactly at the right time. Thank you for sharing so openly and for the lovely affirmation at the end. It warmed my heart.
Lots of love right back to you ❤️
And here’s to finding peace — not as a final destination but as something we practice every day ✨️
@azurePond @azurePond aw thanks for the appreciation.
I think when I see good in others, it inspires me to do more instead of arousing envy. That's being competitive in a good way and not toxic.
But that's not how I was always.
The way I was raised i was taught/ encouraged was to be competitive in a little spiteful way and I did embrace it in my childhood, but disconnected from it in adulthood, when I undid what I was taught and connected with my true self.
Like I feel i may want to be a class topper and thats a fair desire but if in pursuit of it I harm my fellow classmates - THAT is toxic .... dropping that would be a necessity for spiritual purity... but craving for unique and high ranks isn't problematic in my opinion.
@azurePond
But there's another thing--- going for ranks may not be problematic but it may not be doing complete justice to yourself either. The limitations I have - no one else has those. The powers i have - no one else has those. If I don't utilise my powers fully that would be a loss regardless of whatever high rank I get. If my potential was of an even higher calibre then my quest remains incomplete.
I guess then it makes more sense to compete with my own self - to grow from where I am to where its maximum for me - instead of pursuing ranks. For eg i may end up being the class topper as was my dream but if my God-given calibre was to be of a world topper, I haven't done it all then.
Like we can push our limits to achieve our maximum but we also have to accept our limits because there is a maximum set for each one of us - so I think.
Thank you for bringing this up. It got me thinking 🤔 ❤️
@Creamyyy Wow, you’re incredibly self-aware—it’s clear you’ve done a lot of inner work, Creamyyy . I’m genuinely proud of everything you’ve overcome. Honestly, reading what you shared made me really happy. I appreciate your perspective—thank you<3
@azurePond thank you ❤️
@azurePond
Hey you, I'm so sorry to hear that. Parents are supposed to protect and support us. Seeing children as rival doesn't make sense. They should be proud of you for coming so far and being so good at what you do. I want to tell you that no matter what, you should know that you have your back. Be your biggest and strongest support system. You shouldn't let how others make you feel dictate your mood or actions.
You are bigger than that.

@trueconfidant123
That I was weird. I’ll be honest I was a hyper child and you know goofy but the people around me projected this shame onto me about being “weird” when that has not been the case. Those people who told me things like that were weird and disgusting. Some of them even groped me and put me in uncomfortable situations. That’s when I realized that they were indeed the weird ones.
@trueconfidant123 That I loved people too much. I am realize others just don't show enough love.
@khg004
Hi there. I'm so glad you had the heart to give people the love although you didn't receive as much in return. Being giving is far greater than any other virtue in this world. To be able to give and provide without any expectations is rare and golden. I'm sorry you didn't receive the love you deserve. I hope you find the right people who value you for the person you are.

@trueconfidant123 that I could be anything I want to be. They shouldn't lie and tell children that. You grow up and find out you cannot.
@sociableBeechwood9106
I'm sorry. We are all told as a child that we can conquer anything. Unfortunately, this doesn't always hold true. Apart from individual capability, a lot other factors contribute to building the future us. Resources are restricted and dreams are shattered.
But-

I thought I was a monster, horrible, but at the end I'm attractive and a good looking guy.
I thought I was an introvert. But I'm a totally extroverted person and very introspective.
I thought I was a burden for others.
I thought I was a horrible singer. But now people love my voice.
I thought I couldn't understand and study complex subjects. I realized I'm a quick learner.
This is a good exercise @trueconfidant123 thx for sharing this. See yah.
