I’ve been sad for the last three days, and don’t know if it’s just a combination of paranoia from strange sounds on a cruise, missing my girlfriend i’ve been with for a while, or the lack of sleep?

Emotions are sometimes very difficult to understand, especially when you can't figure out what is causing them. It can help to write down how each thing that was making you feel something, and write down what feeling it gave you. You can write down thoughts as well. This can help you separate each situation and it can even lead you to a resolution as to why you are feeling sad! Whenever I get confused by my emotions, I do this so that I can look at my behaviors and feelings from a new perspective and not in a jumbled, confusing mess.
