...See more As an Adult-Teen Listener you become a part of this amazing community, the Teenside is a special place with so many different individuals. if you are an Adult-Teen Listener and would like to make a commitment to the Teenside, write this out below (you can copy and paste it, but that can take away from it) I (username), as an adult teen listener pledge, To understand that the teens in the community are not to be belittled or spoken down to. To support the teen community with the knowledge that I have as well as being open to learn, gain knowledge and skills from the teens. To guide the teens to take on their own initiatives and become their own leaders and not underestimate their potential for growth. To not pressurise the teens into doing anything they do not want to do, including encouraging offsite contact. To not overstep or overshadow the teens when supporting and guiding them, or monopolise within the teen community. To have a duty of care when caring for and supporting the teens in the community, so that I am not pushing boundaries and keeping the teen community safe and supportive. To be mindful of our speech and how it may be perceived, to not patronise or undermine anyone in the community no matter their age. ...See more Many people may not be aware that here at 7 Cups we are divided into two parts. This is so we can keep all of our teens as safe as possible. Everyone 18 or over is on the ‘adult side’ which is fondly called the ‘oldie side’. And the ‘teen side’ which is populated with teens:- Teen members aged 13-17 Teen listeners aged 15-17 And also with adults called ‘ATL’ (adult - teen listeners) who are aged 18 + but who have been approved by the admin team to listen to teens. They will have the ATL badge by their name in the rooms and on their profiles. You can read more about them further down this post. As you know 7 Cups reaches world-wide! As such different cultures can have different terminology about when a person reaches adulthood, for 7 Cups this is on the 18th birthday! It might be called ‘transitioning’ from teen to adult, or it might be ‘aging-up’, or it could just be the beginning of adulthood. For some, reaching twenty-one is a more auspicious age when they reach adult status!  Did you know that we have a special team of listeners called Teen Transition Mentors? This is the beginning of a new year and for many of you this will also mark the beginning of a new episode of your life - Adulthood - when you reach 18! At 7 Cups when you reach 18 you will be switched to the adult 18+ side. This happens at midnight 12:00 GMT.*  Why 12:00 GMT? I have no idea, but it has to be some time so why not lol? ~ What is the Teen Transition Mentor Team ~ We have a whole team on hand to offer you support. In an attempt to provide you with a space where you can get support on transitioning into the adult side we are launching this Teen Transitioning Support Thread. Here is it how it will go: â This is a safe space for all teens who are soon aging up or have recently aged up to share anything that concerns them about the transitioning process, ask questions and get support. â The thread will be monitored by our Teen Transitioning Mentors. Most of our Teen Transitioning Mentors have gone through the aging up process themself and are passionate about supporting our transitioning teens. They will respond to the members posting in this thread. Important! â This is not a place to get support on matters other than aging up as a teen. This is so we can focus our resources on supporting the teens who are going through the transitioning process. A few days ago we relaunched our teen transitioning mentor role to have a group dedicated mentors that will support our teens through the period of transition. A big part of the teen transitioning mentor role will be supporting the teens through the Aging Up Support Request system. Here is how it works! ☆ If you are a teen who is aging up within a year or less and you need support with the transition period, you can submit this form. https://forms.gle/WymZKAHD7SnVDpnLA The form takes less than 5 mins to fill and allows us to get the information we need to be of support to you. ☆ The form can also be used to request support on behalf of a fellow listener or member who you feel needs support. This is a way for us to work together and ensure all teens feel supported during this transition period. https://forms.gle/WymZKAHD7SnVDpnLA  ☆ One the form is submitted, you/they will be contacted within 3 days by a teen transitioning mentor. The mentor will work with you to ensure you are ready for the transition along with answering any questions you may have. https://forms.gle/WymZKAHD7SnVDpnLA  ☆The Transitioning Mentor Request form is used for the purpose of preparing for the transition and being supported through the transition that happens when a teen account moves to the adult side on a user's 18th birthday. If you wish to receive support in matters relating to turning 18 in regards to anything outside of 7 Cups, as well as support with any personal matters, please reach out to a listener from your member account. You deserve support through the transition ahead, and there are many listeners with experience here to support you during this transition. In order to ensure that we are focusing on those who are active and aging up soon we request you to follow the following guidelines when submitting a support request: ☆ You are eligible to request transitioning support when you are aging up within a year or less. Of course, you can reach out to the Transitioning Mentors even before via PM to ask any questions you may have but the form is for those who are aging up soon. ☆ If you do not respond to our mentor within 3 days your request will be closed.
