Greetings fella human.
This is a reflection on my whole year on 7 cups, as a teen member.
If you had been mentioned, it means you were & are a guiding light, in this chaotic world, in this journey called life.
(I try to mention as much as I can)
Mostly this is for the spectacular souls, my friends on cups who I met & befriend as a teenager.
Of course, everyone else are also welcome to read.
Now,
I'm going to write, a lot. But you don't have to read everything,
I try to mention each of you in a separated thread in this forum And send you a specific massage there.
Feel free to read as much as you want.
I believe we are ready to begin. So~
I am turning 18 in the first week of November. I have to admit I'm sad I wouldn't be able to enjoy Halloween & Christmas with you, but, today I'm here for more important things.
One year ago,
at September 2nd 2024,
After my bro's insisting about joining cups, searching about it on the internet, and asking about it from AI, I finally joined the 7 cups community.
(I want to talk about some of my struggles, to say how much you have been and are of help, so here is a trigger warning// I don't want to make any of you feel down because of me.)
Almost everything felt awful, anxiety, sleep issues, depression, avoidance, self harm and some other mental health challenges I wasn't aware of.
But, most of all, the loneliness... I could say it was the most hardest thing to deal with.
I'm so happy to say "it was", not "it is".
I want you to know how much you made me feel at home, because still I don't have friends near me,
But you made me feel wanted, and you welcomed me with warm arms.
Today.. today I am delightful to say I don't feel alone like a year ago anymore...
I'm feeling so vulnerable & emotional right now, but i don't care at all, I'm feel ok to share think with you.
I have a feeling, that these emotions, are needed, are ok.
You know, I used to say I wasted my last year of being a teenager, but that's not true, one of the most remembering things I did was fighting with the fear,
Joining & staying with you.
I learned many things, I could say you was part of the reason I seeked professional mental help.
Part of the reason I took my medicine,
Part of the reason I restarted school after a long time,
Part of the reason Im better at typing English,
And many more things.
But, one of the most important, part of the reason I want to become a better human.
Maybe if I wouldn't receive your support, I would never heal, or not in a long time...
Maybe I would've give up & leave responsibilities, May I would've become something I don't want to even think about.
But now, sometimes I listen, even if I don't make people feel better, I really try to not hurt them either.
Sometimes, I really try to imagine myself in others situations, and care for them.
I hope I had been successful in this goal. That's not something to say by myself.
One of the things that was and still is very remarkable to me, is every time teens listen to each other,
As a listener, or even as a member in the support room.
While they listen, it doesn't mean they are not through tough times,
Sometimes even they are going through the same thing,
But the act is fabulous to me, something more valid than money or looks,
They listen to each other out of compassion, sometimes out of love, without knowing each others real full name, or sometimes without even seeing each other faces.
Sometimes the member who was listening to another member, vent to the same member;
And that's something magical to me.
Maybe if all humans were this supporting towards one another, the world would've be a whole different place today.
So when I see caring among you, I don't just see texts exchanging,
I see a silver lining in this dark world.
Thank you teens & adult teen listeners for every act of kindness you offered to me.
For every single time you listened, for evey single time you helped or prevent a panic attack from happening.
Thank you for every joke, very laugh, very happy tear that fell because of you.
Thank you for evry good thing in my life that is because of you.
Thank you for teaching me about empathy, nobility, kindness, understanding and many more.
I don't want to stop writing, it feels as long as I'm writing I'm staying on the teen side, but now it's time to face the truth.
I want to share some of my experiences. They aren't advice, or even suggestions, I just want to tell you this, because I don't want to forget some of my life listens.
I hope hearing this would be helpful to you.
I'll ask of you to please read this part even if you didn't read the blue part
Some say teens experience mood swings, sudden emotions, hatred, procrastination etc because of hormones.
Some of them also add that it all would get fixed after you turn 18.
First from my experience, there isn't anything needs to be "fixed" of course we all always have the opportunity to grow & do the right thing, but your emotions aren't something wrong,
All normal humans experience different emotions, I could say they need managing & understanding.
It is right that your physical state have a huge impact on your emotions, but even adults have mood swings etc,
13-17 is very challenging, but with the right help & guidance, it's manageabe & sometimes enjoyable too.
I myself spent some of teen days without knowing about any of this, so I thought sharing this would be of help.
So some of the most important things I learned and remember atm was
Never give up, maybe I don't know when it will get better, but there's always to be hopeful for.
It is true that my hormones etc influence my emotions, but it doesn't mean they are fake.
Take a very good take of your physical health, that could only lead to healthier future.
Even if you don't have access to professional mental health help, still care about your mental health, don't let challenges shape you.
When feeling most awful, in the thoughts moments, as much as you may have some urges, don't stop eating, try to fight with self harm, think about making a decision,
You have a life ahead, try to make it least better as much as you can.
Sometimes those who hurt you are that carefree they don't remember what they say to you moments later,
Reminding their words or actions in your head, or hating them will only hurt you,
I know adults tend to say these stuff because we believe they don't understand us, but I'm telling you this when I'm still a teen.
I know typing these may would be so easy regarding doing them in real life, but these words aren't out of judgement, telling you what to do, or questioning you.
They are out of caring, because I don't want other teens experience some of the challenges I experienced out of not believing in those words.
Some coping mechanisms aren't positive,
Some friends aren't True,
And at the end of the day, we are the one who takes some decisions.
So I know we have limits, but I'm talking about the part we have control over,
And of course, here I am rating and telling you all of this without being being in your shoes for a smallest time.
On collective, after all the Sense & nonsense I wrote,
I just want to remind you to try to take the right decision
Please if you're in crisis, reach out for help,
And never give up.
All the best, 2nd September, NobleSeeker.
