❄️ This Past week was rather busy for me and went by pretty fast... I had various things going on personally and also appointments to keep up with....I found that my energy was also lagging this past week (which could be due to the weather & this time of year). I did manage to keep up with fueling my body with a combination of both Workouts & Rest when needed. I kept up with Hydration goals, although sleep goals were a little up and down, so that is something I will get back to focusing on in the week ahead to also help with "better energy".

☃️ It's been rather cold here this past week, and the weather has been going back and forth. We had "One" mild day here, and on that day I was having a "low energy" day... but, I vowed to get "outdoors" with my Pup and so we did for a nice walk (Which re-energized me, and released his normal Pup-stress).... I also added in some "Home" workouts when needed, and continued on with my Group Fitness classes through-out the week (& continuing to enjoy my Newest one that I swapped in).... And, I also got to lead "another" Aqua Fitness "Warm-up" for one of the classes....(Which as an instructor who's been on a longer than usual self-care break, felt pretty amazing.).... My body has lately been doing what it feels like doing, so I'm also continuing to focus on what it needs (Whether its breaks, naps, rest, self-care) etc... It gets it.

❄️ This weekend its going to be pretty cold again... (such as the month of January goes here)... I again have no major plans/intentions yet, (However it WILL Be a "Long Holiday" weekend here which will be great).... I will continue to work on getting my CEU's/Credits completed for one of my Fitness licenses, and focus on some other goals and errands.... and try to continue to work on all the other many various things that I have to do or have coming up this month ahead.

 Hi, Ocean,

Today I am relaxing from a brutal week.  After dealing with my car situation, the very next night, as I was leaving for work, a little kitten ran up to me in the parking lot, crying.  I couldn't leave it there so I put it in my apartment and made sure it had what it needed.  Then I had to put my 13 year old cat in the bedroom and made sure she had what she needed.  Then I went to work and asked everyone I came upon if they wanted a kitten.  I cannot afford a new cat.  Lots of people offered to help me find a home for it but no one said they wanted it.  It was such a sweet kitten.  All it wanted was to snuggle and play.  My cat, Chloe, did not want it.  She hissed and growled at the kitten.  At work I had to deal with a woman who seems intent on beating me down.  I couldn't take it anymore and broke down in tears at work.  I ended up taking it to the only place that said they would take it.  It is the local animal shelter that kills animals they don't find a home for.  I don't want the kitten to die.  That is killing me.  How are you doing today?  Today is the first day I am relaxing.  I slept for about 17 hours.   ... And how are your January Goals going so far?  I'm not even sure what my January goals were.

☃️ This is our "Second" Check-In for January (and we are almost 'Half-way" through the Month already!)..... How has the past week gone for you since your last check-in?  See my answer above.... and What is "One" negative thing/experience since your previous Check-in that you can see in a more "Positive" way or Positive light this week?  I know that I got the kitten out of bad weather.  We had a very bad storm.

❄️ When you are feeling down, burnt-out, or having a challenging timeHow do "Re-connect" with yourself, Shift your Focus, or "Feed your Souland find your purpose again in a Healthy Way?  I did the best I could with dealing with my car and finding a kitten.  Today was my first day to rest.  Last night I bought beer.  I know I shouldn't drink but I was really looking forward to the beer.  And today, my first day off since all this happened, I slept all day.  Plus I prayed ALOT.  At work, I walked away from the nasty woman.

☃️ JUST FOR FUN: BRRR......Baby Its Cold Outside!... "WHAT Is the Current Temperature today where you are"?!  32F

❄️ What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?...... How were you able to work through your challenges?!  Please read my answers above.  And add that I prayed a lot and God came through to help me through the situation with the kitten.  But it is still hard to deal with.

Hey there Tree~

Oh my the whole kitten situation sounds so very stressful. I hear so many stories like this (as well just 2 weeks ago as matter of fact), and my heart just breaks a little each time…. because as a pet owner I can’t even imagine having to make those kinds of choices on what to do with a stray. But I see based on your specific & personal situation, that you had to do what was best for you. It’s all you could do. The point is that you tried your best to deal with the situation accordingly.

It also sounds like after so much going on for you that your body just crashed and needed to rest after everything. So it’s great you had the time you needed & were able to do that.

Good for you for also handling negative work situations to the best of your ability... as well as staying in Prayer. Suggestion is to continue to do that. Even when we don’t have the words, he hears and knows our hearts. And it’s wonderful that he listened and guided you on the situation with the cat. Think of it in terms that if he guided you to the shelter, that it doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a negative experience. You gave care, love and shelter to it when nobody else was available for it. So continue to pray for it and for your feelings about it all.

I also hope things are going in a more positive direction for you this week with your car and that everything is Ok there for you?!

Again we are here to support you Tree. And thank you for sharing with us. Please continue to let us know how you are doing.

@PoliteOcean

My dear Ocean,

Thank you for what you wrote to me.  It is so sincere and caring and I can feel that you feel the pain I went through in this situation with the kitten.  I'm so sorry that you had to experience it by listening to me.  You're an angel for all the support you give me, and others, here at 7Cups.  You do it so well.

I think you're right.  My body just crashed.  I didn't think of it that way, but I think you're right.  I think the Lord was there with me, and guided my body to the sleep.  He definitely guided me through the situation.  I prayed so hard, and I think he paved the way for me every step to make things work out the best for me and for the kitten.

When you said that even when we don't have the words, he hears and knows.  I read something recently that a woman wrote when she was beyond knowing how to ask the Lord for help.  She was beyond find the strength to find the words, and all she could say in prayer was, "God?"  He then gave her comfort and guidance to make it through her situation.  I did that, remembering what she wrote, and just called his name at times in my prayers at the end of this week.

I want you to know something important that came out of this situation.  You said that it doesn't necessarily mean it will be a negative experience.  There has also been some beauty and graceful thing that I heard from God.  He showed me that the situation with my car and my phone not working and my financial situation mean nothing next to the meaning of this little life, this kitten.  All my other troubles fell by the wayside in importance.  He showed me that the life of this kitten is far more important than any of it.  I was able to relax about my other troubles.  I finally saw them as just little annoyances that cannot compete with the importance of this life.  That kitten became more important to me than anything, other than the life of my 13 year old cat and my life, and your life and all the animals and all life on earth.  So, in an important way, God helped me to learn with this situation.  It's not that I didn't know the importance of life before I found this kitten.  But God gave me a swift kick to put it all into perspective.  I will continue to pray for it, as long as I can remember.

My car is functioning.  It is starting to show it's age and run a bit rougher, but it gets me around.

I feel a bit more humble in my outlook about what I saw so much trouble.   And I feel a little more positive about my outlook on life.  I just hope I can always stay in touch with good people like you, and continue to spread my outlook among those who need it.  And of course, always continue to help animals in distress.

God bless you, Ocean.

--regards, tree

Tree! ❤️❤️❤️

I’m almost brought to tears reading what you have written.

It doesn’t take much does it? For The Lord to show us the way and guide us (or rather humble us) with the little things. Suddenly what seemed like something that was so important simply pales in comparison when you look at the bigger picture and see what really matters.

And when I sit here and read what you have written, it just “continues” to be another reminder for me. To always stay humble, & remember and focus on what should matter, and to try not to sweat the small “stuff” that shouldn’t! (Even though it’s not always easy because we are after all human).

But I get it… and hear loud and clear what you are saying. These Furbabys are everything….(Vehicles can be replaced, we can always move, gain other employment) etc…etc…,  but the love we have and carry for the “beings” in our lives right now is what should matter more and towers over all that other “stuff”.

I’m so happy for you that you had this revelation for yourself. And HE will continue to guide us and lead the way. We just need to listen and follow. 🙏🏼

Take care Tree and thank you so much for your kindness and for your thoughtful words. I really appreciate it and it warms my heart that I can be here to support you.

And God bless you too ❤️

How are you doing today? ... And how are your January Goals going so far?

So far when people have asked me how am I going and I say "I am going ok probably the best I have been in a while" so I think this is positive. I am still alcohol free which is also positive.

How has the past week gone for you since your last check-in?... and What is "One" negative thing/experience since your previous Check-in that you can see in a more "Positive" way or Positive light this week?

My week since the last check in has been going ok. My partner has had rotavirus and been very sick. So I have not been exercising just trying to keep myself from catching his sickness. So it is positive because I did not get sick and he is over his sickness.

❄️ When you are feeling down, burnt-out, or having a challenging timeHow do "Re-connect" with yourself, Shift your Focus, or "Feed your Souland find your purpose again in a Healthy Way?

I do my 5 minute single object concentration, 10 minute deep breathing exercises over and over until I feel calm or sometimes I even have a bubble bath if I have time with candles and music.

☃️ JUST FOR FUN: BRRR......Baby Its Cold Outside!... "WHAT Is the Current Temperature today where you are"?!

In South Australia it is summer so today was 38 degrees celcius. It was hot so tonight we have the airconditioning on to keep cool.

❄️ What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?...... How were you able to work through your challenges?!

Challenge and still is a little is that my parents helped me buy a car. I am very appreciative and cannot thank them enough but I feel like I am a failure, and that I should be able to provide for myself. However, I have spoken to people who say your parents love you and if they cant help you when you need help who can. So I have had to try and change my mindset and learn to be happy with the situation.

☃️ What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?! ....WE want to hear from YOU!~

When ever I think more than one day ahead I panic about everything and always wonder how am I going to manage the future. I am definately afraid of whatever lays ahead???? why I don't know it just the feeling and axiety talking. But day by day I am always improving. Thanks for listening. Looking forward to everyones posts.

Hey there Human~

It’s definitely a positive that you are feeling the best you have in awhile. And taking great steps to be in that place. Good for you and keep up the good work.

Oh no! That’s too bad your partner wasn’t  feeling so great. It sounds like you are doing the best you can and whatever you need to do in order to not catch what he had and get sick too. (I can totally understand and relate to that). After all who chooses to be sick?! But it’s good you say he’s now over it, and you didn’t catch it, so sounds like you can get back into your routines more…. And I see that you are incorporating some great things during times of possible stress that bring you calm and bring you positivity. Great work 👍🏼

South Australia?!.. nice! Hopefully some day, I can get a chance to visit there…. (I LOVE the accent).

I can see what you are saying in terms of your parents helping you out with your vehicle. While it’s great that you have someone that can help, I can also understand how it might put you in a position to where it may make one feel “less successful” about themselves.. (that it couldn’t be done on their own)?! …But I think it’s a good thing to have people that love and care for you (and also in a position) that “Can” help you when needed. And someone you can rely on… If it continues to have you feeling this way, perhaps you can devise a goal to where you can either pay them back, or pay back a partial payment (as I’m not clear obviously who paid what)?…..or even treat them in some type of way to show your gratitude while you continue to work on getting yourself in a better place?

I can also relate to and understand how “getting ahead of ourselves” can create much anxiety. But taking time to center yourself, regroup from any negative thoughts, and focusing on the present day itself one day at a time can help. And I see you say you are already improving day by day. So continue to keep up the great work as it seems you must be doing something right?!

Thanks for checking in this week and sharing with us. And please continue to keep us updated on how things are going.

Hey there Sun~

That’s great news for you that you’re starting to recuperate and finally feeling more like yourself. Sounds like you had quite a time trying to get rid of what ailed you. Prednisone is amazing. …However as a nurse I do know that one of the side effects is poor sleep (or not being able to)! But hopefully now that you are winding down, and if you can get back into some type of movement as you feel better, it may help you sleep better. Of course as you know take it easy starting out again. Kuddos for being able just to get up, move around, and get in some light housework.

Yes overthinking can surely cause stressors (and be a Joy-stealer)! …but good job to you sticking to your new year goals & incorporating activities to help counteract that. And focusing on your purpose. And how nice that you’ve also found something/someone to listen to that helps bring both “calm & inspiration” to you. 👍🏼

That is definitely a cold day up there!… But Somehow I thought you were in the UK 🇬🇧?! 🤔😂

Sounds like you and your son have some talking to do …making a lunch day of it is a great place to start. My son and I used to do that a lot. It’s also definitely good for the soul! Good luck

Thank you for sharing your week with everyone and letting everyone know how things are going. Please continue to keep us updated.

@PoliteOcean Here is how the past week went. I had two reading sessions and went for a walk 3 times. Somebody finally fixed the toilet seat so that makes me happy.  Wednesday I took a bath. It was an ordeal. We ran out of instant coffee but Sifa brought over some on Thursday morning 🌄 so that makes me happy.  Thursday I went to the library and filled out an online form for an organization that offers people cash assistance for housing needs. The problem is they require a lot of documents. Tony is a great caretaker. Jane was terrible. I don't know how long Tony is going to be here. I'm really worried about what's going to happen when Alan comes back. For this upcoming week my first book on Middle English is going to arrive. I can't start studying now, but I found it at a deep discount. It's really hard to find books on Middle English. My biggest problem now is lack of lighting when it is raining or overcast outside. My devotional life has been non-existent.

@Regmo

Hey Regmo~ That’s good you are staying on track and getting in both your readings and activity goals. That’s awesome that you were able to get in 3 walks this week…. Your weather must be going well there as it’s been to cold here to get out much… Good job on keeping up with your hygiene by getting in a bath. That’s very important…Not only for physical purposes but also mental purposes. As Good personal hygiene can help in improving confidence, motivation, and life quality. (Whereas poor hygiene can have the opposite affect and even increase depression/anxiety)… It’s also good that you were able to put effort and focus on trying to get assistance where you feel you need it. But yes typically when you complete forms for such things (especially where financial assistance is involved), they tend to want your whole life history and there’s a lot of things to fill out & complete. That’s good for now that Tony is working out. And hopefully you’ll be able to find or make time for more of your studies and devotional time soon. Thanks for checking in and continuing to share your week. Continue to Keep us updated on how things are moving along.

@PoliteOcean Hi Polite, I am new to this group and wanted to say hello before I start talking about how the week went, so hello! 😊

This week, I was able to go to the gym three times and stick to my diet. I couldn't lift the weights I would have liked because of a shoulder injury, but I am happy with my progress. I have also been able to stick to my new way of eating, I have been trying to eat healthy for a while now, and I've recently cut out a lot of salt by using salt free seasoning. I haven't took my blood pressure in a while, but I am sure my numbers will benefit from this.

Today, the weather was warm. In the 50's ╰(*°▽°*)╯ ! I didn't go out today, but I had my window open and that the weather felt good, like a spring day. The rest of the week was quite cold, in the 30's. But I didn't mind it because I was outside and back in very quickly for the most part. Thank you for letting me post about my journey here, and I wish everyone a good week.

Well Hello there Michael~ I’m Ocean the Healthy Living community leader. It’s great to have you here with us this week and thank you for introducing yourself. 🙂

That is great that you were able to keep up with your healthy living goals this week by getting to the gym and sticking to your diet. I can understand and relate to injury, and how it can hold you back from working out to your fullest potential…,  So sorry to hear that is something you are dealing with. But its so great that you are happy with your personal progress. That’s what counts!

It’s also good that you have been able to find, figure out, and incorporate healthier options by lowering your salt intake and “spicing” things up a bit with salt-free options. I too am sure your BP will appreciate the healthier swap you have made! Keep up the great work there.

Sounds like your weather has been a winter-rollercoaster ride like ours?! (We we’re in the upper 50s on Thursday and back into the upper 30s/low 40s by Friday. …

We really appreciate you stopping by to check-in, introduce yourself, and share your week with us! We hope to hear from you again… and that you continue to keep us updated on how you are doing and how things are going for you (and your healthy living journey)!

Last week was rough. I was tired.

its been rainy and on the cold side here, but nothing frozen.

ive been trying to motivate myself to start exercise. It’s been difficult because I’m so tired and probably anemic and low on vitamin d. These are ongoing issues, I eat well…. It’s just other stuff going on In my body.

anyway. I decided to pay for sum online exercise workouts, easier ones. Usually when I pay for something, it motivates me to use it.

My mind set has had a lot of negative self talk, but I’m trying to negate that with music and gratitude…. I told myself I wouldn’t allow myself to get this way again.,,, I dropped the ball. Climbing out of this place is always hard. I wish everything wasn’t such a chore. It’s a chore getting out of bed. It’s a chore coming here.

im still here. So yay.

@SeekForgiveness730

Hey there Seek~

I can personally relate to the feeling of having dreary weather (consisting of rain & cold), that is probably also making you feel tired. As this time of year can tend to make one feel that way.

However it sounds like you feel/think/or know in some way that you may possibly have some Health deficiencies going on (low iron or vitamin levels) that could possibly be making you feel that way as well?... (And the lack of sunshine during the winter months can also affect our bodies too).  Hopefully, you have been able to seek some professional medical advice on this through your healthcare provider? One who can check and monitor those levels for you, and could possibly help you get back on track with feeling healthier through Meds/Vitamins etc...And devise a plan to help you feel better and gain the energy that you need to get through your day and function better.

I was just about to say there are plenty of "Free" workouts that you could use and enjoy that you don't have to pay for, UNTIL that is, I read the rest of your statement! And I feel that is actually a really great idea. We do tend to stick to something better, and become more motivated when we know that we are paying out hard earned money for it! So great job to you there!

I feel that many of us here can relate in some way on how challenging it can be to stick to routines at times, or how we can allow negative thoughts, feelings and emotions to set in. Which can in turn get us off track with our goals for ourselves. (Thus also making even the simplest things seem challenging or as you said " a chore")......And you are right, it can be "tough or hard" climbing back out again. However, you did it... You're negating negative thoughts with music, gratitude, you got out of bed, you came here to 7cups, (and yes you ARE Still here)! ALL Amazing things!.... So YAY! Kuddos to you!...And please continue to keep up the great work. We are here to support you. And are all in this together to better ourselves.

Please continue to check back, and keep us updated on how you are doing and how things are going for you. And thank you for checking in and sharing with us this week.

Good morning,

Doing okay. Mostly tired. Lot going on with MBA entrance exam. Need to re take it to pass. Working with the professionals to improve.

Medicine insurance company keeps delaying my medication. Another annoying thing to deal with. Frustrations. Rather teach a drunken monkey how to dance.

Highlights was having school over the weekend for a introductory to the courses.

Still narrowing down my list to buy a house. Debating between HOA and Non HOA.

work through the struggles still. Just a headache sometimes.

Hey there Shadow,

Thats good that despite being tired, that you are doing okay overall.

Dealing with insurance companies can surely be a headache. Hopefully for you things will come together soon.

That’s great for you that you are keeping a positive attitude regarding your introductory courses at the school. What type of course are these for?

And how exciting for you that you are looking into buying a new house. There are definitely lots of pros and cons to Both HOA & Non-HOA, so certainly do your research & homework, and choose whats best for you personally.

Despite it being a headache, it’s great that you are still working through your struggles…Keeping positive vibes and positive attitudes can help. Keep up the great work you are doing. And thank you for checking in this week and sharing with us.

Please continue to keep us updated on how things are going.

❄️ Hey Everyone~ How are you doing today? ... And how are your January Goals going so far? I am doing on this day ( sorry if a little late lol), and I feel that so far my goals have been really coming in handy.

☃️ This is our "Second" Check-In for January (and we are almost 'Half-way" through the Month already!)..... How has the past week gone for you since your last check-in?... and What is "One" negative thing/experience since your previous Check-in that you can see in a more "Positive" way or Positive light this week?

So a negative thing that I have dealt with so far is that my job keeps changing things and constantly sending us into overthinking, then waiting weeks for a team meeting. However, the positive is that I'm excited to say that my toddler is actually talking and I am so proud of how far she has came! It makes my heart melt to hear her have conversations with me.
❄️ When you are feeling down, burnt-out, or having a challenging timeHow do "Re-connect" with yourself, Shift your Focus, or "Feed your Souland find your purpose again in a Healthy Way I reconnect with myself by reminding myself to that it's okay to have these moments, I shift my focus by looking at the things around me and reminding myself there are so many blessings around me.  I feed my soul with family time, time for myself and just more genuine bonding time.

☃️ JUST FOR FUN: BRRR......Baby Its Cold Outside!... "WHAT Is the Current Temperature today where you are"?! I think that it's at least 17 degrees at first and now it is probably about 20ish or 30ish

❄️ What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?...... How were you able to work through your challenges?! The highlight of my week was being able to spend time with my daughter and have a mommy and daughter day. The struggle of my week was dealing with nonsense at work, but other than that everything was fine. I handle the struggles by remembering that everything will be okay.

☃️ What is something that "YOU" want to talk about, add or share with us this week?! ....WE want to hear from YOU!~ I just want to share that I am proud of myself for allowing myself to accept the love that I have been given. I am proud of myself for being able to find peace, and allow myself to lay boundaries without crying because of my empathy. I am so so beyond proud of myself because I made it a long way.

Hey there Phoenix,

Thats good that you are doing Ok and that your goals are coming along for you so far this year....

Despite the negatives with your work, it sounds like you have a very great & positive situation to counterbalance that with your child.... How exciting for you both that she is talking. It definitely is an exciting time & experience in learning & teaching between a parent & child. Not too mention how cute it is to hear them mimic new words and phrases. (Lots to look forwards to)!

It also sounds like you have made and created lots of great and positive ways to reconnect with yourself, as well as ways to feed your soul when needed. (Shifting your focus when needed, reminding yourself of your blessings, family time/bonding, and self-care time) are many amazing & various ways to help yourself stay on track. Continue to keep up the great work that you are doing there.

I think that despite your struggle with work over the course of the week, that you had the biggest highlight of all and thats time with your child, (One of my personal favorites).... And its great that you are trying to maintain a positive attitude (around the nonsense of work that is) and reminding yourself that things will be Okay... Because inevitably they will always come together. And you absolutely "should" be and feel proud of yourself for all the work that you have and are still putting in on yourself and in your personal goals. Again, you are doing a great job, so continue on your path and keep up the great work.

Thank you for sharing your week with us and letting us know how things are going. And please continue to keep us updated!
