Forum Functionality: Provide Feedback Here!
Hello, everyone!
As you might be aware, there are some on-going forum changes taking place. You can use this thread to provide any feedback, suggestions on forum functionality (functions, features, utility, any technical aspects only) or bugs that you encounter.
This is mainly being done to help keep things organized as it can be hard to gather it from various places/people and ease up the process for everyone to pass on feedback further to the 7 Cups team.
We encourage everyone to use this thread for its purpose anytime and use it for only that. Kindly review this post for any other feedback/behavior reports that don't involve forum functionality.
I thought I I was going to like this new format but the banner that says "back to the beginning of the conversation" goes all the way back the first page of the life of the thread.
Different conversations get initiated throughout the thread and when someone comments on what they like watching on TV, that's a different conversation than someone that's asking help to complete a task.
If there was some way that if someone made a post that the conversation would just go back to that post not back to the first page of the thread.
The way it is now you just wanna give a supporting heart but you can't say a lot because you can't remember what the whole conversation is about and you don't wanna go through the whole thread to find the starting comment and then clicking on each reply that has four replies to find out that you're in the wrong beginning, anyway and so a lot of time gets wasted. And a lot of genuine support goes undone.
So I did like it but I think not too much now because of not being able to follow the conversation when it says go back to the beginning of the conversation and it goes all the way to the beginning of the thread.

Thank you for these reports. The update has come sudden to us too! We're reviewing the glitches/bugs and have passed these over to the technical team for their attention. Hopefully the updates get reverted back or fixed as soon as possible. We'll keep you updated.

Thanks Tommy, I understand and appreciate your reply. We all know this new change is shocking, and distressing our users, so I hope it is fixed soon. Or an explanation?
Some notifications, particularly to posts inside long threads, lead me to the original post, with a couple of navigation arrows below.
Finding the post where I was tagged is tricky.

@HopieRemi It says it's excellent lol but idk. I did just have a tech out today because he needed to replace the ONT. Maybe it's a modem issue too? I'll have to see how it goes the next couple of days. Thanks Remi :)
The GIF tool isn't working properly on my computer. I can use the random ones that come up to begin with, but I am unable to search anything. It just doesn't change what's there when I type something in.
It does work on my phone using a browser.

I feel like this is a temporary glitch. When it doesn't allow me to search, I back out and refresh the post, then try again. After 1-3 refreshes it tends to straighten out.

I already submitted this as a help desk ticket, but this forum came across my feed, so I thought I'd post here too:
Hello, the fact that the forum is a pop up box that covers the text of the forum is the issue, because I cannot see the post or replies that I am replying to. So this is a forum layout problem. This happens on my macbook on the web and on my phone on the web and app (iphone). The problem happens when I am on both my member and listener accounts. and this problem always happens because it’s the design of the forum, can you please change the website & app so I am able to see the comments I am replying to?
Basically, I am having to copy & paste the original post into my reply box just to be able to see what the original post is. There must be some way to either move the reply box so I can refer back to the original post and/or it's other comments when I am typing my response, or change the formatting altogether, so we are able to view the original post and its comments while we are typing our reply.
I came across various instances of replies to posts in which that post is quoted in the place corresponding to the reply, and the text of the reply can't be seen.
This is random, coming again later I might see the text of the reply as it was intended.
(unfortunately, people don't visit the same posts twice so will only see the wrong version)

Noticed a couple of things over quite some time now, so just listing them here, also in case others have encountered these too?
◇ Earlier this month, it would take forever to get the "Recents" tab to load and still not, (also shared by other users) but now it seems like the issue has shifted to the needs reply queue.
◇ The needs reply queue doesn't load for me at all, since last 2-3 days (of my notice), keeps showing the buffering thingy!
◇ Also noticed in some threads, it showed "2 comments" indicating the thread is out of the needs reply queue, but when i opened it, there were no replies, only the original thread/ post. :o
◇ It seems the double-posting/ reply bug didn't leave us forever either? I see this happening for other users too, and recently it happened when I posted a reply in a thread as well.
◇ This one isn't a frequent issue but gotta mention still~ sometimes from the forum homepage, when I click or hover over a listener/ member profile it says "user not found", instead of the usual collapsed version of their profile; even if the account/ user is still active and made that thread like 9 minutes ago. XD
◇ The forum pages are taking longer than usual to load for me, specially since 2 days (I've tried the usual, deleting cache, refreshing the screen, checking internet access, trying a different device etc all~ still persistent).

Hey Sun! Yes there has been a number of bugs since the beginning of the month.
- Point 1-2: It started with the Recent tab and it seems to have fixed itself. Now it's the Needs Reply tab. This was reported to the development team for problem solving and waiting to hear back from them with any updates they may have.
- Point 3: There's been an uptick in spam responses so we have been actively trying to remove them as they appear. It's a mix of new and older posts that are getting these responses so when removed it shows only the OP's post and no other comments. So even with the responses being removed, the post stays out of the Needs Reply queue and goes unanswered and due to the delayed loading on the tabs, it makes it even more difficult to find them.
- Point 4: So when you go to make a reply to the post or thread, it is duplicated after clicking post and the page refreshes?
- Point 5: Will forward this along with the other bugs mentioned to see what might be causing that disconnect between the homepage and the profile preview. If it happens again and you’re able to grab a screenshot or note which thread/user it happened with, feel free to send it or post it here.
- Point 6: This ties in with the above points so will be highlighted as well.

@CheeryMango I still see the issue with the recent tab. It just seems to occur at a certain time/thread. So I have to hit see more a lot on recent threads now before I hit the point where it stops working. Needs reply is oldest to newest so it's near the top.

Can you provide additional details on exactly what the last two bugs you mentioned in your post are about? We're trying to problem solve with Cris and he needs more information on these two specifically.

I do see some of these look better already.
#4 Yes, I meant the double posting. When you make a post instead of just one single reply/ post, sometimes there’s a glitch and it shows the same reply/ post twice.
#5 This one happened in the community forum page, when I hovered over profiles from the “Recent” tab and it showed “profile not found” even for the ones that are active. But checked it again now and it seems to be fine now. I’ll definitely keep in mind to take a screenshot if I see this happening again.
#6 Oh yes, it’s just that sometimes it takes a lot longer for forum pages to load, like it works fine with the chats, group chat rooms etc but the forum pages take longer in opening. So I wasn’t sure why it was happening. This too seems okay for now, will let ya know if it happens again too.
As a side note, what happened to my original post/ reply here? A lot of content is missing in it now. 😮

My guess is that the contents of the original post are still there in the back-end (and they'll show up if you click to edit the post) but they're not being displayed properly on the front-end.
@lovemymoonflowers hehe no no, Niibuddy, this seems to be another ongoing techy- issue, I see it happening with other replies and posts too. :(
@QuietMagic oh probably. Since we are all only able to see the front end hope the bugs are sprayed away soon lol.

I suspect the glitch with the needs reply queue is in the Poetry community.
Depending on the order I try to view Needs reply there I may or may not be able to see anything (seems dependent on the what I did previously). If I look by recent, I get stuck earlier in April and can't go further back.
Reading & Writing is also behaving a bit oddly, depending on the order I get stuck in the most recent list (also in April) but I can also get around this depending on what I did previously.

Thank you Affy! We've been working with the technical team to fix these glitches/bugs and have sent them this additional info too. Hopefully things will start to get better soon.
