The Butterfly Project was created through a Tumblr page. The idea of this project is that people will draw a butterfly on their bodies where they usually self-harm. It is a deterrent against self-harm because you would have to kill the butterfly in order to hurt yourself. You can learn more here: http://butterfly-project.tumblr.com/

The butterfly project is a project that can aid people who self harm to resist the urges. A butterfly is drawn in the place/s where the individual self-harms and they can use the butterfly to represent someone they love. Then, when they feel the need to self harm, they can look at the butterfly and try to resist so that they do not harm the butterfly. If they self harm, All of the butterflies die.

The butterfly project is a project that helps people that self harm find a way to stop. They draw butterflies wherever they self harm and they name it after someone that loves and cares about them so that everytime they think of self harming they can look down at that butterfly and hopefully not self harm. If the butterfly wears off on its own then that means you are getting stronger and the temptations aren't as strong to self harm. But if you do self harm then you have to wash off the butterfly and start over. This is a really good project

The butterfly project is aimed towards self harm. To sum it all up, you basically draw a butterfly on your wrist anytime you feel the need to cut.

The butterfly project is a method of coping with self-harm. To sum it up simply, drawing butterflies allows someone to feel that they are making a mark on themselves, but positively. In addition, it can be used as a preventative measure to prevent futher self-harm. The butterflies can be named, and have a "life". If the person drawing harms themselves before the butterfly naturally fades away, the butterfly dies. People who do not self-harm can still draw butterflies on themselves to show support.

The butterfly project is when you want to cut but instead you draw a butterfly on your wrist or thigh or stomach and name it. If you cut before it fades then you killed it. If you don't cut before it fades then its alive

It is a project made for self-harmers who feel they are ready to stop and need the motivation or support to do so. Basically, you draw a butterfly (a very innocent, beautiful and delicate creature) on your wrist or wherever you cut. You don't want to hurt the poor butterfly do you? cutting on the butterfly means you've killed it. Thus this is a way to mentally keep yourself clean. Non self-harmers can support those who struggle with self-harm by drawing butterflies on themselves too :)

The butterfly project is a project that helps one become clean from self harm. An individual will draw a butterfly in a place, they feel they would self harm. They can choose to name the butterfly or not. If they self harm, it is as if they have destroyed the butterfly.

The Butterfly Project is a way to keep people from self harming. They draw butterflies on themselves for every person who cares about them. The main goal is to keep the butterflies alive. If you cut the butterfly you kill the butterfly.

THE RULES: 1. When you feel like you want to cut, take a marker or pen and draw a butterfly wherever the self-harm occurs. 2. Name the butterfly after a loved one, or someone that really wants you to get better. 3. NO scrubbing the butterfly off. 4. If you cut before the butterfly is gone, it dies. if you don't cut, it lives. 5. Another person may draw them on you. These butterflies are extra special. Take good care of them. 6. Even if you don’t cut, feel free to draw a butterfly anyways, to show your support.

It's where you draw a butterfly on your wrist in order to distract/stop you from self-harming as it symbolizes killing the butterfly.

If I am right, it is about escaping self harm, you paint a butterfly over your scars and let it fade away with days, and try not to cut.

You draw a butterfly on your wrist (or area where you selfharm) and the name of a person you care about underneath. This butterfly symbolises them. If you self harm, you have killed the butterfly, if you don't you've let it live

The Butterfly Project is a self harm recovery project, in which you draw a butterfly on your arm, and try to keep the butterfly alive! You can personalize and name your butterfly if you would like too even. The idea behind it is upon forming an attachment to your butterfly, the more you'll want to keep it alive. Relapse in this sense is killing the butterfly, and this project is trying to help train your mind to take care of yourself (your butterfly) and love yourself again.

You draw butterflies on your body where you normally self harm and if you self harm you are killing those butterflies. The butterflies are also representative of your family, so it reminds you that your sh hurts your family.

It's a thing people do to stop self harming where they draw a butterfly on a part of their body that they want to harm. If the ink of the butterfly fades away without you harming the part of the body it is on, the butterfly metaphorically flies away.

It's a very nice project. If you want to cut yourself you'll take a pen and draw a butterfly on your hand. A butterfly symbolizes someone or something what you love. If you'll cut butterfly'll die.

These butterflies are extra special. Take good care of them. 7. Even if you don’t cut, feel free to draw a butterfly anyways, to show your support. If you do this, name it after someone you know that cuts or is suffering right now, and tell them. It could help.

The Butterfly Project is a great program for people who struggle with self harm. You draw butterflies whereever you self harm and you name them after someone important in your life like a family member or a celebrity you adore etc.. and you stay clean for them. If you relapse, you kill the butterflies, but you draw them back on. Also, if they wash off and you didn't relapse you just draw them back the way they were.
