November 2021 Community Update!

Dear Community,

I hope all of you are well! And for those that celebrated Thanksgiving, I hope you had a good time with family and friends and were able to get some downtime and rest.

This part of the year always flies by for me. We will soon be heading up to Massachusetts to visit family. My kids are counting down the days until Christmas. Our youngest daughter still kind of believes in Santa. I think this might be the last year.

A few quick updates on my end. First, we are focused on strengthening our research efforts. There is a lot of foundational work that we’ve been doing over the last several months that will begin to come to fruition early next year. I’ll share more soon. Second, the H Prize is now live. You can learn more here. Several graduate student programs like APAGS, the National Register, and PsychinOut are getting plugged in. @soulfullyabutterfly and her team can help support and answer any questions you might have. Last, we launched an a/b test version of the new dashboard. This initial version is not personalized. We wanted to get a version up so that we can start to learn. Look for more advances on this front in mid-December.

We're tightening up our feedback process so we can better serve the community by introducing a new one-stop form that will be reviewed and responded to by the CM team on a weekly basis. We have received submissions on the feedback form and are reviewing them now. Look for our first official update on the feedback front in our next monthly update.

In H Needs Help news, I am looking for someone to take over the Daily Reviews and Listener Spotlight. As a DR Project Agent, you would create weekly recognition posts and share reviews from members as well as encourage others to copy reviews and keep the reply chain going, the point being to highlight as many reviews as possible; this is an ongoing initiative. As a LS Project Agent, you would create graphics of reviews that would be shared on the site and across social media platforms. Consistency here is key, so if you are interested and can perform these tasks consistently and regularly, please PM me directly!

Laiba/Hope

The past month, the academy has been focusing on strengthening our leadership for academy programs. We have onboarded 4 new mentors for GLDD and we have two new mentor leaders joining the academy. @Dreamtouch for the leadership development program and @IcedEthan for the Internship program. A few more academy mentors are in a trial and will be announced soon. Additionally, we have updated the leadership development program to now allow the trainees to choose their program duration. @Anotherfrenchtoastclub has also created a weekly breakdown post for LDP to guide the trainees on how they can complete their program requirements. 7 Cups Academy now has its very own sub-community. We have renamed the building community program sub-community to be the 7 Cups Academy sub-com. It has been reorganized and is ready for everyone to participate in! Please do drop by and check it out here

During November, we updated a bunch of the training documents like Room Supporter (Listeners) as well as updated Member Room Supporter Guide. We created an Alert Request Form to collect and process all the requests in one place and save leaders and the community's time. Also, we developed an introductory Sharing Circle Growth Path that anyone can take to learn more about it step by step.

In the chatroom leadership front, we updated the monthly quota of Chat Supporters to 10 L-L chats in order to bring better and effective chat support coverage for the listeners community. Also, Living with Mentors: Get to Know 7cups Mentors initiative introduced with the goal of knowing our mentors better and they could enlighten and support us through their learning and guidance.

During this month, we hosted our first week-long Twitter Chat and were joined by Team Lightship and other users in the discussion! To join the growing Lightship Team as a leader or member, click here.

On the content end of things, we have been working on several topic pages that connect our articles, topic-based questions and answers, sub-community, and growth paths. If you are interested in participating in this content writing opportunity, please PM me - we have a few topics left to assign!

On the other hand, the Content Volunteer Team is now looking for volunteers at different role levels - with changes including weekly onboarding and an exciting opportunity to get your work verified/recommended after consistent participation, you can join our team by applying here

The Content Development and Marketing Program trainees can now join the Q&A Approval Team during their Program as an added bonus. This will help us process community submissions at a faster rate. Finally, we have a new subcommunity space for paths called the Gateway to Growth Paths. I invite everyone to follow this space and stay tuned for H Prize related announcements and more.

Happy December! Good tidings to you and yours this festive season. During this past month, we worked on strengthening quality across the site. We added 6 new quality mentors to help us further our quality goals. Interested in becoming a mentor? Apply here.

The Safety Awareness Team has created multiple quizzes and discussions to help spread awareness about the safety tools and knowledge available on site.
