Mission Starting out on 7 Cups as a new listener can feel overwhelming. From accepting your first chat to exploring different rooms and learning resources, there is a lot to do and see! That's why the Welcome Committee will be here to support new listeners through this journey. Our goal is to help new listeners feel confident using the platform within their first month and to reduce confusion around features, expectations, and where to find help. How does it work? Team members will reach out to new listeners to welcome them and ask if they have any questions, following up a few days after the initial contact. We may not be able to reach out to all new listeners, so if we missed you, feel free to contact a team member directly or reach out to a mentor [https://www.7cups.com/listener/training/mentors/]. How can I join? We would love to have you on the team! The requirements are the following: * Verified listener * 100+ chats completed * 4.5-star rating or above * At least 5 reviews * Listener level: Apprentice or higher (6,881+ cheers) Team members have a quota of 20 initial outreaches and 20 follow-ups per month. ...See more The hardest part of the journey is sometimes the beginning, and this is especially true of our newbies. We as a community have the power and ability to ensure they get properly oriented and supported so that their journey is smooth. I have been actively contacting newbies over the past couple of months and the results have been inspiring. Roughly 80% of those I sent a personal message responded to me and very appreciatively! That's a really big deal because those people have a much higher chance of being retained (retained = staying on 7 Cups). But I need help! So it's with great excitement, that I announce the revamped relaunch of the Welcome Committee! Through this initiative, we can meet our newcomers at the start with a friendly welcome (think hospitality, a greeter, etc.). We will also provide guidance and resources they need to navigate their first steps. The tasks are simple. PMing brand new members, saying hi, giving resources, answering their questions, and sending follow-up PMs to make sure their transition is complete. There are two sides of the Welcome Committee: one to serve members and one to serve listeners. 1. To qualify to join the Member Welcome Committee, here are the requirements: * You must be a Verified Listener (find out how to get verified here) [https://www.7cups.com/forum/listenerjourney/ListenerVerificationProject_1839/GetVerifiedon7Cups_290064/] * No behavior reports (BPS) within 3 months * Comfortable PMing * Google Sheets skills – Basic knowledge of managing data in Google Sheets is necessary. Note: The team uses spreadsheets to copy/paste names and log PMs so you'll need access to a computer/laptop device. This work can't be done via phone. We apologize for the inconvenience * Maintenance criteria: 1-2 hours a month to dedicate to this project ✅ Apply here! ...See more As I've become older in life I've realized that the outward appearanceI once enjoyed in my youth has faded away for the most part, but the inner beauty and love my soul projects every day, are the best qualities I possess to be shared with someone who can truly appreciate what I'll bring to their life one day. Though I consider myself to be a TS, In my present state of life I'm more of a CD. I'm hopeful to find someone who won't play with me, who truly desires to get to know my feminine soul and nature, and who wants me to be in their life as much as I'd love to be in theirs. I often feel it's too late in life for me to even consider this possibility could manifest itself before my eyes, but hope keeps me going. My soul is a complex, classy, sophisticated, elegant lady who writes poetry, and I have a tendancy to speak with a poetic prose which can capture the heart of anyone without my direct intention to do so. I'm just being who I am, and displaying my loving nature openly for everyone to see. I like to get to know people through mature, sophisticated conversations which will provide me with a good look into the very essence of their soul. I'm a serious-minded lady who likes to interject humor into my conversations because I do love to put a smile on the face of the person I'm speaking with. I'm easy to talk to, I don't judge anyone, and perhaps talking with me will help someone else be a bit less lonely when they're feeling like they have no friends to confide in. I wrote a poem recently, and would like to share it with everyone here openly. The inspiration for this poem came from a feeling of hopelessness about my future. " Emotional Darkness" I sit in the corner of my dungeon cell, body shaking as a bitter frigid wind turns vapor to frost upon my floor, my teeth chatter violently as I grasp for my tattered cloak, wrapping it about my shoulders to ensnair what little life remains within my sinking soul. My love yet unseen remains shrouded in darkness, the key to my loving heart dangling upon a crusty chain about their neck, forever condemning me to bitter sadness within my misery till this torch of happiness upon my wall is lit by the  flame of loving contentment. These tears raking over my cheeks, visual representations of my anguish fall upon a dusty floor, awaiting that moment of bliss, when my loving heart is unlocked bbathe one who owns it. ...See more I've been here before briefly, but it's been so long my life is completely different now. So hi again! I'm honestly just looking for more connection in my life. Just a place to talk sometimes where others are actually listening and may even respond. I am married and have a wonderful person, but one person (and 2 very young children) can't be your entire social world, and I haven't had much luck building friendships. I still suffer from some issues, and it would be nice to have space to talk about those issues when things crop up. Or even just sharing positive things. Just some human interaction honestly...
