I have been through a lot in life too, which helps me to be able to empathize with situations, thoughts and feelings that we have. Sometimes, it's not easy just being human.

I really hope you're doing well, now. Firstly, be grateful of what you have. It can be anything in any form. Parents, partner, pets, a nice old dress, a nice pair of old shoes that go back into trend so you don't have a new one. I normally become really motivated after cleaning. So do whatever makes you feel lighter. Clean your house, talk to a friend, play a game, go jogging.. Etc.. Then when you're motivated enough you can start your job search! Wish you good luck!

First i would go to therapy and talk things out and maybe see a psychiatrist and see if they recommend and meds. Then when you think your depression has stabilized then look for a job. If you look now and are depressed and have a job chances are things will get worse.

Firstly, make sure you are speaking to a professional and receiving the right therapy. Secondly, try to search for jobs when you are feeling alright and don't worry if when you are feeling down you are less active in job searching. Try not to postpone it if you are having a good day though as this would be your chance of being productive.

You could ask a professional to do you cv or ask a friend to help you to do it, so you will have a positive opinion about your professional work and experience. You could try to send your cv to every job you can apply in your domain, so it will avoid you to overthink about yourself.

Yes I have been / am suffering from the same thing. The problem lies with the fact that each rejection also propels the depression and triggers it. The best thing to do is to find out the loop holes in why were you rejected in the past interview, what went wrong. And work on it. Also watching some videos about how to look confident and strong when facing each interview.

Being unemployed can make us feel very confused in lost with our direction. Fortunately for us, being unemployed and depressed are the effects, the ending result of what it is to have a lacking in purpose, direction, motivation, and support. Being depressed leaves us in a position with not a lot of energy, so, to counteract this mode we find ourselves in, look to gain energy in these areas: Support, motivation, purpose. Discover what it is that you love about life, how you help humanity in your individual way and move towards the things that this might be, we become less depressed when we realize a sense of purpose and belongingness to life. I would recommend not only connecting with others who follow the same interests in purpose and specialty, and also, customizing your environment to be positive and inspiring, set up reminders in what you feel like you should be doing and what makes you happy!

Well the only way to find the job you want to have is if you keep a positive outlook on things. :D You have to keep trying and keep thinking optimistic. Don't let the sadness get to you otherwise you will just keep looking.

Look for jobs that involve things that make you happy! Also before looking you can relax by practicing mental health exercises or doing the things you love!

Try counting up all the things you'll have to look forward to, maybe make little games to keep motivated and determined.

Personally, I believe that getting your depression on course and manageable is more important than looking for a job. Having a job with unmanageable depression can be dysfunctional and can lead to you needing time off work and putting yourself in more trouble that you don't need. Making sure that you can operate on a day to day basis would be my first goal, then I would feel better about feeling more in control and then I would search for a job

I understand where you are coming from, because I too am dealing with the same situation. It sounds like you are going through a lot at the moment and I'm sure it's difficult to concentrate on your job search when you are experiencing something such as depression. Would it help to find someone - a career counselor from the college you attended (if you attended college) or a close friend - who can read over your resume/application and give you mock interviews? Sometimes, enlisting the help of another person can work wonders.

When I'm depressed about anything I like to take away the energy I'm putting towards being depressed and put it to other things, maybe it is video games, or going for a run or a jog. Doing other things to keep your mind busy and away from whatever is causing you to be depressed is the way to stop being depressed.

Seek for career service to get personality profiling and resume writing advice, and also seek for workshops or short courses available to boost one's confidence in job search. If this does not help in overcoming depression, it is better to seek for professional counselling service.

A great start point is already that you are asking for help. Depression is something we all experience once in our lives. Is ok to feel this way. A good first step will be to search for professional help. With this support, you will be able to understand more about yourself and step by step achieving your goals.

What's your motivation behind going on a job search? Figure it out, and have that motivation in mind. You can exercise what to say and write, and you can reward yourself for writing and preparing yourself well. I would say positive vibes and positive things in everyday life can help you feel more motivated and happy in your job search. Good luck!

It's a difficult spiral you have entered. It is tough to break lose of the down going spiral. One negativty leads to more negativity. Depressions is a thing that takes a lot of work and a lot of time to recover from. I would suggest you to talk with someone. Setup small goals in the beginning, to get out of bed, to make a cup of coffe, just really small goals and start working you way up again.

I have been there, you have to move forward and not get caught up in what you don't have and go for what you want. Like me it took 8 years of working lesser jobs until I finally found what I wsnted

Hey there! I can totally empathize your situation. Job search can get very frustrating and stressful. I agree. It is normal to feel depressed and loose hope. But, do remember that if you do not try, you will not achieve what you want to. When you get negative thoughts, use positive affirmations - "I know it is a phase, this will pass." "I am going to get that job." "I am confident about myself." Affirmations will help you to keep a positive frame of mind. Other things that you can do is indulge in hobby activities or anything that make you feel positive about yourself. I wish you luck for your job search and am positive that you will find a suitable job! :D

This is absolutely fine to feel down when you are unemployed and actively searching for work. It could be hard to focus on many things at the same time so if a task seems too difficult, do not despair. Break the task down into even easier steps and start again more slowly.

Ask a close friend or family member to help you search for jobs - tell them that you're depressed so they can consider this when helping you
