Salted Caramel Cookies!!

...See more Hey lovely people! :) Today I made these salted caramel cookies, and they were so amazing, so I thought I would share the recipe! If you don't have caramel sauce, you can make it by melting butter, adding brown sugar and a bit of milk or cream! I don't know the measurements because I always guess, but I'm sure google has an answer! I would say these make my top 5 cookies, first being cakies (a combination of a cake and cookie), snickerdoodles, chocolate chip and peanut butter (I absolutely ADORE peanut butter!), white chocolate chip and macadamia nut, and of course, salted caramel! What is your favourite type of cookies?  Recipe from:  https://www.modernhoney.com/salted-caramel-cookies/

Baking fun! - Quick and Easy Scone Recipe
by SleepyShyCat
Last post
October 12th, 2025
...See more A tasty scone recipe for you! 😋 [image contains scones cut in half with jam and cream on top] What you'll need: * Large bowl * Something to mix ingredients together (eg. a spoon) * A jug (or something you can heat the liquid ingredients in) * Baking tray * Cutlery knife * Clean work surface * 5cm cutter (or a similar sized glass cup works well) * Egg brush Ingredients: * 350g self-raising flour, plus extra for dusting * 1 tsp baking powder * 85g butter, cut into cubes * 3 tbsp caster sugar (other alternatives work as well) * 175ml milk * 1 tsp vanilla extract * squeeze of lemon juice * beaten egg, to glaze * ¼ tsp salt Need to convert the measurements? Use this tool [https://www.thecalculatorsite.com/cooking/grams-cups.php]. Method: ✨STEP 1 Heat the oven to 220C, /200C fan, /gas 7, (392F / 428F). Tip the self-raising flour into a large bowl with ¼ tsp salt and the baking powder, then mix. ✨STEP 2 Add the butter, then rub in with your fingers until the mix looks like fine crumbs. Stir in the caster sugar. ✨STEP 3 Pour the milk into a jug and heat in the microwave for about 30 secs until warm, but not hot. Add the vanilla extract and a squeeze of lemon juice, then set aside for a moment. ✨STEP 4 Put a baking tray in the oven. Make a well in the dry mix, then add the liquid and combine it quickly with a cutlery knife – it will seem pretty wet at first. ✨STEP 5 Scatter some flour onto the work surface and tip the dough out. Cover the dough and your hands with a little more flour, then fold the dough over 2-3 times until it’s a little smoother. Pat into a round about 4cm deep. ✨STEP 6 Take a 5cm cutter (smooth-edged cutters tend to cut more cleanly, giving a better rise) and dip it into some flour. Plunge into the dough, then repeat until you have four scones. You may need to press what’s left of the dough back into a round to cut out another four, or however much is left. * Depending on how big you want your scones to be, will impact how many this recipe makes. I often cut smaller to make more. ✨STEP 7 Take the baking tray out of the oven. Brush the tops with a beaten egg, then carefully arrange on the hot baking tray. Bake for 10 mins until risen and golden on the top. Best eaten warm or cold on the day of baking. * You can freeze scones too! Always freeze once cool. Defrost, then put in a low oven (about 160C/140C fan/gas 3) for a few minutes to refresh. ✨If you want, you can dust the tops with icing sugar for presentation. ✨Use jam and clotted cream to serve. Tips! * Remember to pat, rather than knead because scones will become tough when over-handled. * Adding a squeeze of lemon juice to the milk sours it slightly, mimicking buttermilk, often used in scones but sometimes tricky to find in stores. The slightly acidic mix gives a boost to the raising agents in the flour and baking powder. * How about adding some fruit to your scones - stir 85g plump sultanas into the mix at the same time as the sugar. 🌟 How do you like your scones? Jam, cream, fruit, plain, or something else? 🌟 Time to decide - is it Scon (rhymes with gone), Or Scone (rhymes with cone)? 😮 🌟 What do you like to bake? Minty Mirage 🍹

...See more Hey hey everyone coming across, I hope y'all are staying cooollll hehe! 💛 It's summer already in my part of the world, and gosh, I'm not looking forward to hotter temperatures urgh! 🫠 I'm not a big time fan of summers (how ironic, but yes 😛) as you can tell xD  but I do appreciate how seasons affect our choices and diet too!  Love experimenting summery recipes and specially cool-drinks to sip on, during this time of the year!  🍹 I tried this recipe a few days back and have made it thrice in 6 days, so yes, I looovee it that much and if you are into sweet, minty, refreshing cold beverages I think you'll like it too! 🥰 It is one of the easiestttt recipes to try ever and takes less than 10 minutes I think! (Procrastinating on it, included 😏) What do you need? Mhmm, ingredients: 🍹A handful of fresh mint leaves (it's our protagonist lol) 🍹 Sweetener of your choice (honey, agave syrup, or sugar) - I'm really no fusss about these things and go all the way in xD so it's normal sugar for me to sweeten my drink, as yum as possible!  🍹 Juice of half a lemon (or one whole, if it's a small lemon, really depends how lemon-y flavor you want, I like mine at least with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice)  🍹 Ice cubes (lots of itttt, because coolerrrr, the better hehe) - Water (duh?!)  🍹 A pinch of pink salt (or any salt you prefer, this is entirely optional too, but a little sprinkle of salt can really enhance the taste)  - A general note lol, always use some common sense and your own judgement for the quantities specially, you can increase/decrease the amount of any ingredients, also use any alternates you want to. Following recipes to the T isnt as fun, I think,  we can always experiment and make them suit our taste and preference~ our own version of something, yes?!🥰 Okayyy we've got the ingredients, now what? Blenddddd!  Seriously, that easy! Just put all the ingredients in a blender and blend untill smooth.  Pour into a glass, adjust the sweetness if you need, add some more crushed ice and maybe put a couple of mint leaves and a slice of lemon for the ✨drama✨!  No really, it looks prettyyyyy! 🍹 Last but not the least? Sippityyy sipppp and thank me later as you sip away your summer worries! 😛 If you are trying this, I'd really love to know how it turned out for you and yes of course, if you have any summery,  easy breazyy recipes to try, do share them here also! 💛

...See more Hi everyone!  I wanted to share this simple yet delicious lemon cake recipe. It’s soft, light, and has a rich lemon flavour. Perfect for a cozy treat! ✨ Ingredients 3 eggs 130 g sugar 120 g melted butter (or 100 g neutral oil for an even softer texture) 150 g flour 1 packet baking powder Zest of 2 lemons + juice of 3 lemons A pinch of salt For decoration (optional): A little powdered sugar for dusting Preparation Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a loaf pan. In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy. Add the melted butter (or oil) and mix well. Sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gently mix. Add the lemon zest and juice, stirring until you get a smooth batter. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 30–40 minutes. Check doneness with a knife—the blade should come out clean. Once out of the oven, poke the cake with a toothpick and gently pour the syrup over it to let it soak in. Let it cool before removing from the pan. Dust with powdered sugar for a lovely finishing touch! This cake is moist and airy cake with a bright, delicious lemon flavour. Perfect with tea or coffee! Let me know if you try it 💛

...See more This is all using American measurements btw My mom’s pie crust- literally the best ever: INGREDIENTS: * 2 sticks butter * 2 1/2-3 cups flour * 1/4 cup very cold water (tbsp by tbsp) * 1 tablespoon salt * 1/4-1/3 cup sugar INSTRUCTIONS: * Cut butter into tablespoons. Use stand mixer/food processor to blend * Add butter to dry ingredients (or vice versa) * Quickly add water tbsp by tbsp, without overheating butter. * Chill for at least half an hour * Preheat oven to 350 degrees * Bake for around 20 minutes ——— Brown Sugar Fudge [Recipe link here [https://www.eaglebrand.ca/En/Recipes/Brown-Sugar-Fudge]] INGREDIENTS: - 10 oz condensed milk - 2 cups brown sugar [well packed] - 1/2 lb or 2 sticks butter INSTRUCTIONS * Place all ingredients in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 10 minutes, stirring every two minutes [it will boil or bubble, that’s okay] * Beat in a stand mixture for around 5 minutes * Spread evenly in a parchment paper lined 8x8 inch pan, then chill for around 2 hours * Once set, cut into pieces ——— Sugar cookies [from my fridge] [it’s kinda hard to read cause my printer sucks so here’s the link [https://www.inkatrinaskitchen.com/best-sugar-cookie-recipe-ever/]] ——— Chocolate chip cookies [recipe link here [https://www.ihearteating.com/easiest-chocolate-chip-cookie-recipe/]] INGREDIENTS: * 1/2 cup butter * 1/2 cup granulated sugar [if you want it less sweet use 1/4 cup] * 1/4 cup brown sugar packed * 2 teaspoons vanilla extract * 1 large egg * 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour * 1/2 teaspoon baking soda * 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt * 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips INSTRUCTIONS: * Preheat oven to 350 degrees F * Melt butter in microwave, about 40 seconds * Mix butter and sugars in a large bowl * Stir in vanilla and egg * Add flour, baking soda, and salt * Mix until just combined * Stir in chocolate chips [these make great sugar cookies too so chocolate chips are optional] * Scoop out 1.5 tablespoons of dough and place around 2 inches apart on a baking sheet * Bake for 7 to 10 minutes. Cookies will look slightly underbaked in the middle, but that’s alright. ——— Vanilla mug cake [recipe link here [https://youtu.be/DWKp7zLKWwg?si=88rnHir66urg17_h]] INGREDIENTS: - 4 tablespoons all purpose flour - 3 tablespoons milk - 1 tablespoon sugar - 1 tablespoon butter - 1/4 teaspoon baking powder - 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract - pinch of salt to taste - sprinkes [optional but recommended] INSTRUCTIONS: * Mix all ingredients in a large to medium sized mug, make sure that no flour sticks to the bottom and everything is thoroughly combined. * Microwave on high for 1 minute. Cake will look slightly undercooked when done, but do not be fooled by this trickery. It is deceiving you in an attempt to cause you to overcook it. Simply let the cake rest for a small while or eat it at that moment, and you will be delighted. Succumb to its lies and you will be greeted by a delicious but dry and overcooked cake. ——— That’s all I have for now, lmk if any of you like these ^^

Bread and Chicken Pozole

Last post
November 24th, 2024
...See more Hi everyone. I figured I'd introduce myself here since I am heavily interested in looking up all kinds of different foods. Honestly had this account sitting around for a little bit now and thought I'd try and see if I can get more usage out of it, especially now as I am going through a rough patch. Pretty much the only things that have been keeping me afloat as far as my mental health goes is cooking and baking bread. I love trying to recreate the Mexican recipes from my home near the Southern border of the US and I actually haven't bought store bread since July or so, since I have found so much success from doing so. That first picture of the round dutch oven loaf was actually my second attempt at making bread, if you could believe that. I did try a simple recipe off of YouTube before and though the flavor was great, I didn't really get a whole lot of mileage out of that. So to see something that delightful in color was honestly what inspired me to keep on doing more. As I have said, I haven't bought bread from the grocery store in months. As well, for those who don't know, Pozole is a kind of soup made with a combination of red pepper sauce and broth, depending on the area it comes from. I chose to keep things simple and make a chicken pozole for the time being as one thing I would like to do is learn how to make Menudo, since I have a pressure cooker to facilitate the ease of that. What do you all think? If you'd like me to explain how these are made, I'd be more than happy to talk about it! Thank you for your time.

Pumpkin Pie Recipe
by Mya000
Last post
November 7th, 2024
...See more Here’s one of my absolute favorite dessert recipes—I just love it! This pumpkin pie is perfectly spiced, with a buttery crust and creamy filling. Paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it’s a comforting treat that’s hard to beat. Enjoy! Pumpkin Pie Recipe Ingredients: For the crust: * 250 g flour * 125 g cold butter, diced * 70 g sugar * 1 egg * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * Pinch of salt * 2-3 tablespoons cold water For the filling: * 400 g pumpkin puree (you can make it fresh or use canned) * 150 g sugar * 2 eggs * 200 ml fresh cream (or milk) * 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon * 1/4 teaspoon salt * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Instructions: Making Fresh Pumpkin Puree (optional): * Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). * Cut a small pumpkin in half, scoop out the seeds, and place the halves face down on a lined baking sheet. * Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the pumpkin is soft. * Let cool, then scoop out the flesh and blend it until smooth. Now you have fresh pumpkin puree! Preparing the Crust: * In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter and rub it in with your fingertips until you get a crumbly texture. * Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until the dough begins to form. If it’s too dry, add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until it comes together. * Form a ball, flatten into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Preparing the Filling: * Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). * In a large bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, sugar, eggs, cream, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. Assembling the Pie: * Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 3 mm thickness. Transfer to a pie dish, pressing gently along the edges, and trim any excess. * *** the base of the crust with a fork to prevent bubbling. * Pour the pumpkin filling into the crust. Baking: * Bake the pie for 55-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is lightly golden. Insert a knife into the center, it should come out clean when done. Cooling & Serving: * Let the pie cool to room temperature. * Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat! Enjoy!
