Knotted Friendship Bracelets
by TovaCares76
Last post
August 10th
...See more This is another one of my therapeutic hobbies! I love making knotted friendship bracelets out of embroidery floss. You can also use yarn, craft string, anything you have. I started with yarn. :)  I wear the majority of them too! I have some the represent friends of mine, some represent things in my life, and some I just think are pretty!  If you want to try to learn how to do this I recommend two channels on YT MashaKnots Craftanatic Both of these creators teach step by step how to make the bracelets, and they do the best job out of anyone else explaining how to do things. Masha also has two books which I love. Once you learn how to read patterns, you can go to braceletbook.com and they have thousands of patterns you can make, a lot of them along with pictures other creators have posted! If you do make some bracelets please post them so I can see them! :)

My Various Crafts
by TovaCares76
Last post
April 10th
...See more I am starting a new hobby journal filled with the various other crafts I do because I don't just knit blankets! I need a break every now and then! So one of my hobbies is sticker collecting. I use them everywhere. I got this lovely book of stickers and thought, this would be so pretty on a decorative box. So I found a set of boxes with cute locks, got some white paint and some Modge Podge and went into decorating this box. This was my first time doing a project like this and I think it turned out pretty well. A friend gave me the idea to put a small figure on top of the box, so I think I will put a rosary holder, or a prayer on top. But it's a lovely box for my nightstand. Now I have a bigger box just waiting for a new idea. :)

Skiing can be dangerous

...See more This past weekend I went skiing for the first time this season. I'm not new to it, but I was pretty rusty from last year since I didn't have much time for it. I live in the Midwest, so there aren't that many good hills. The one I went to though wasn't too crowded because of the -26 degree windchill.  After going down a few times on the easier hills, I got to the advanced, thinking it would all come back to me. I was wrong.  I feel down multiple times, and on one occasion came down the hill so fast I crashed through one of the barriers at the bottom of the hill and fell onto the frozen river. Some people on the sidelines helped me out, and I was banged up pretty good. I did all of this with my back injury, which probably wasn't the best idea. I'm scared my leg (which I fell on after a bad fall), might be sprained. It's not my fault I wanted to go skiing in my current condition, right?

In 2025, I started taking Singing classes... finally!

...See more Hey there everybody,  I just want to take an opportunity to share that I began giving time, energy and money to my hobbies in 2025... and they are paying off. In terms of my mental health, having a safe space, and feeling like I have a sense of who I am.  I started taking weekly music classes in the beginning of the year... and I am still at it! (Although I did postpone a lot of sessions.. I am happy that I am still going!). And I just want to say that it has been probably the best investment of my life. The trainer is really good at their job and kind. I am getting actual, honest, accurate and kind feedback on something I love to do ... and this is a place which understands why I would be interested in getting to know more about a subject.. just because. That feeling of being understood, without having to explain and persuade the material value of my hobbies/interests - Is probably something I have never felt before. And I can tell you, it is a truly great feeling.  I may not become a musician, as younger me would have dreamt of becoming, but I can still attest to the fact that there is merit to pursuing your hobbies for just hobbies. Even today, whenever I feel lost, or feel like I have nothing to say/feel/think, or tears don't stop/flow, whether I feel too numb or too zappy... I find myself naturally wanting to listen to music and sing my heart out. It really does let my heart breathe. I think that itself is something of a worthy goal in itself. If you can, invest in your hobbies and interests. They keep you close to yourself.  (And just another quick point... make sure you are being kind to your financial health as well... it goes a long way.)

Finished Dramatic Prose

...See more Yayyy! I finally finished my paper. TW: Fear, implications of SA, supernatural dread.  The man sits there. Sitting. Waiting. Three thuds bleed into the corridor.  She freezes, her breathing sharp against the silence. Her stomach churns, sweat beading across her brow. The floor creaks. She hears the leaking of fluid down the stairs and a large thud. Eat. Sleep. Party. Repeat. For the past three weeks, the rhythm of her routine pulsed with the wall, the party scene calling her name. Each night leads to a hungover morning, and hours of motion sickness, leaving her feeling miserable and worn down. But when she goes to the club and feels the booming of the bass that rattles the floor and the sweat that beads across her brow and dripped down her back in her mini bandage dress, she can't help but feel so alive. She eats, sleeps, parties, then prays. In that order. But one day, one moment, everything changed. The rhythm of her habits falls a beat behind. Her life turns into disarray, each trip upstairs feeling heavy, worry weighing down each step she takes. Each time she puts on that mini dress, she feels the strong awakening of something evil in her gut.  The slow, steady chime of church bells linger in the distance. A slow, quiet chime that resembles tinnitus. Footsteps. They wander from room to room, but only when she’s standing still. The bells. They pierce her brain, silencing the shrieking hisses of Lucifer's demons. Each chime strikes her mind, body, and soul.  Thud. A cross that once hung on the wall falls, situated upside down with a burnt ring of fire around it.  Her heartbeat stutters. The shadow creeps towards her, curling around the walls like a thick, black vapor that takes away her breath. She wants to move. She wants to run. She tries to run. But she can’t. Her feet were cemented to the floor. A whisper brushed past her, towards the mirror hung on the wall. You see me now. The reflection in the cracked mirror smiled, but it wasn’t her. It was him. Her lungs scream for air. Her chest heaves. Her pulse hums louder than any bass she had ever heard, louder than the bells, louder than life itself. Thud. The fall of objects hit closer, surrounding her.  The bells chime, getting louder with each strike. The deafening, resounding ring of the church bells strike once more and shut off all ability to comprehend anything. She shivers, now swallowed by the silence that follows her knowing that she is no longer alone.   -------------------------

...See more Some time ago I started to fall in love with making fan works. I tried to make them cute and it was nice to see these lovely youngsters coming into being on the paper. What I liked most to draw was their eyes, which would make them look more vivid and lively.💙💙💙 Then I think I can draw something else besides fan works.✨✨✨ I am not exactly a photography lover, but I feel quite enthusiastic about the creatures. At present, I am really into moths. People often hold the opinion that moths are not as beautiful as butterflies, and even seem annoying. I want to show they are also worth loving.💚💚💚 I may share photos of other things later.🌟🌟🌟 (I admit that my device isn't very satisfying and it often produce photos that a little fuzzy.)😅😅😅
