Christmas Eve: How Are You Celebrating?

I love Christmas Eve.

Reading twas the night before Christmas to my nephew.

Putting out Santa's milk.

Eating cooked ham and mustard sandwiches with my parents and siblings.

Giving out our presents.

Everything is completed so now it's about soaking it up.

Not getting dressed 💚😊

Just being in the present moment 💚

✨ What is one small thing you do only on Christmas Eve?

We bring up all presents once our daughter goes to bed. so in the morning she thinks Santa brought the presents during the night.

✨ Do you feel ready for the big day tomorrow?

As ready as we will every be, probably missing something but it is what it is.

✨ What is the "official" Christmas Eve meal in your world?

Nothing official for us.
We typically have a turkey and all the fixin's on Christmas day with our other daughter and grandkids.

to tell you guys the thruth, I just want to buy something already made and just spend my Christmas watching a nice movie. I'm so tired to be the only one to do everything around the house for christmas and be insulted if I ask for a bit of help or simply for someone to keep me company while I do, to listen to a christmas carol...to at least be together happily joking around.. the point of a family or of christmas in general is to spend quality time with the people around you but the members of my family don't get that...they just come done to eat in silence, get their present and go back up to their room and if they speak it's to critic. So, this year I decided to spend my own christmas with no presents or decorations. Just me with my bowl of rosemary beans and a nice film plus some chatting on the 7cup or to friends abroad. I suppose we can call it an online christmas and hope for when I have my own space to fill it with people who do care and enjoy a nice old traditional feast between music, food and warm drinks :)

I miss my Christmas Eve's from my childhood! Grandma used to keep a big curtain in front of the presents so the kids couldn't sneak up and look at them at dinner, but we did anyways! :)

✨ What is one small thing you do only on Christmas Eve?

Make sure all of my gifts are wrapped and watch White Christmas

✨ Do you feel ready for the big day tomorrow?

Oh my gosh yes. My family is getting along so well right now, and this Christmas is going to be the best in years. Sure, we like getting gifts, but we'd much rather have fun with each other, and fight over who gets to give Mom and Dad their gifts first. :)

✨ What is the "official" Christmas Eve meal in your world?

When my Grandpa was still alive, he was the master of ceremonies on Christmas Eve. We would fill ourselves up on fish treats all day, and then we'd have Grandpa's clam chowder. I hate clam chowder, but there was something about Grandpa's that was just so good that we looked forward to it every year. Tonight by myself, it's lettuce-wrap burgers. :)

I am spending my Christmas Eve with my two cats. 🐱We are going to be snugglin and watching some Disney together. I may make some hot chocolate and mashed potatoes tonight for my Boyfriend and myself.
