Today is a very very special day, it marks 1 year since our beloved @Sunisshiningandsoareyou has joined our 7 cups community ! Wow, can't believe it's 1 year already 😮 ! Our sweet Sunny is 1 year old on cups, yay! We wish you a very Happiesttt 1st Cupversary and hope this beautiful journey continues ahead and you keep shining as always!🤗
Sunisshiningandsoareyou joined 7 cups on 14th June, 2020 and has contributed a lot in the community which is super acknowledged and appreciated by all of us, they have always been an amazing and super encouraging kindest soul to all of us, from being an outstanding listener, sweetest Mod in the chatrooms, wonderful forum supporter, loveliest host in different sessions , a caring friend, to being a phenomenal leader, they have left no stone unturned to offer their kindest support to almost everyone they have come across in the community! My dearest Sunnie sunshine 
I have a pretty long message for you (as expected, duh) so please bear with me. Before that, I am pretty sure you are already in tears after what your secret admirer and @incognitoknight0101 have written for you but I couldn't help but add my own message as well to such a lovely post that is written for you. I remember how we first started talking and especially how we first met. It was around September/November, I think, I was sharing in a room about something and you were one of the people who were there to listen to me and support me. Your beautifully crafted message for me was something that really stood out because you were the only person in the entire room who didn't miss mentioning a single thing from my share. You responded to literally everything that I wrote. I was particularly touched on that day. Not because you supported me and listened to me through and through, but because it felt like, I was truly being listened for once, and a person wasn't doing that to get a review, it was in a room, there was no possibility of gaining something, you did it simply because you are THAT kind of person who listens to others simply to support them and help them feel better.
After that we meeting in different rooms, whether it was having fun in the Healthy Living room or MCR, we kept crossing paths and it was always a special exchange for me. Even before we officially talked, it felt like I had a friend who was always spreading their sunshine around. I PMed you some Anime recommendations and I am so happy that you're finally getting around to watching so many of them. [Btw, "Once you've met someone, you never really forget them. It just takes a while for your memories to return."] We talked when I mentioned one day that I have been sleeping late and you were the one person who took special note of that and offered (without me even asking) to message me later on and you actually did message me later on. I am so thankful you did. You listened to me about what was keeping me up at night and we talked a while after that, totally vibing hehe. You took the time to also appreciate me for the way I was supporting people in Sharing Circle. I still have those messages saved, you said that I should be a listener because of how good I was at utilizing the Active Listening components. I did have a Listener account when you mentioned it, but I felt so "seen" when you mentioned it for me because I wasn't active on my Listener account back then, and truly didn't have any intention to. You were one of the first people who immediately recognized me simply by a text "Sunnnnnnn " that's all it took for you to catch me lol. I never told you my Listener account, you just knew who I was. You have helped me get the starting I needed as a Listener in the community and I am so glad that it was you and nobody else to do that.
I appreciate you for every single moment you have chosen to spend with me. We have mostly exchanged messages back and forth as friends as if we are writing letters to each other xD but that's something that was so special between the two of us. We still do just that with some exceptions of really chatting in real-time, lol. You have been here for almost a year now and it is such a precious thing for me to have had the privilege of meeting you here. You are super kind (*literally* the kindest person here), sweet, compassionate, supportive, jolly, always uplifting others, so giving, ever ready to help others, a true Sun, and the most optimistic person around. I love the way you write your forum threads and I love the way you think. I love everything that makes you, you Sunnie. Thank you for all those priceless messages, GIFs, and the support that you have so generously given me. From the bottom of my heart, a big jaadu ki jhappi for you. Ahhhh *internal scream* Haha, a year already:o , I do not know where to begin and what to say, but I've been delaying a gratitude expression or rather just sharing what I feel about this place from a while ( I do it often in bits and pieces in listener sharing circle , other rooms and forums, PMs etc though xD) , and I can't think of another perfect moment as this one right here, this might look like one long ramble, so bear with me y'all xD
Okay okay , where to begin :o mhm , I really felt confused if my Cupversary is something I should be happy for or not , let me start by what brought me here, I did join as a listener only on the site, heard the news of a public figure who ended their life by committing S - dealing with mental health problems alone , I saw a lot of social media posts and articles where people were blatantly posting about the importance of mental health...it really bothered me that someone's death triggered people to really talk and create awareness about mental health, why do we have to lose people to understand the importance of this very vital thing :/ ,
I repeatedly listened to this song - " One More Light " by Linkin Park --- and cried profusely [ and no this person wasn't someone close but perks of being an empath as i say :') ] , I've heard this song earlier as well and it was one of my favorites long before , but that day it hit me harder and the lyrics made even more sense ....fast forward to 9:30 pm on 14th June '2020 , I saw someone mention this website called , " 7 cups of tea" --- ' a place for emotional support , come and talk to listeners for free ' it said -- I jumped at the opportunity, to my utter shock , or rather a pleasant surprise -- a place like this exists !?! Almost felt like I found my calling , I've heard alot of people mention the same here on cups too -- it was exactly how I felt too --- " a place like this , something like this , where I can help and support people, make them happy , make them feel less alone , make them feel cared for and valued for " --- " a place where I can become a 'someone' for someone who needs anyOne desperately " --- everyone has a story to tell, and people do tell their stories too , all they need is someone to listen and be there , be interested to listen their story and walk with them through their pace.
The first and only thought I had while joining 7 cups , was -- " to save a life " , wanted to do my bit in saving a life , I felt I could compensate to this person in someways by saving someone else who's battling life too and feeling on the verge of losing hope to continue living ---- little did I know then , 7 cups is not a crisis site :') ... I am not qualified to " save a life " --- I can actually do more harm than good ,so it is better to offer them better suited support--- crisis resources !! It took me a little while to get around this thought that I can't really save someone but then I realised and assured myself --- "Sure I can't save a life , but I can actually save a life...how ? --- I can remove all steps in the direction to the one final step or least try my best to" --- how can I do that ? I can listen, be there, make peopel feel cared for, validated, valued, appreciated, be a sounding board , someone they can lean on onto when they feel there's no tomorrow, someone who can give them hope to keep going , someone who can assure that life is cruel ...curveballs are neverending, but you're more than all of these ...you've got through all of it so far ...you'll get through more too... and then someday , it will all be better, much better and you'll be proud of yourself for not giving up , for continuing to keep the hope alive , for doing whats necessary, for moving forwards when it was hard to even stand in your feet ....just gotta keep believing and taking it one step at a time literally! ---- I truly believe nobody, nobody sees it as a either or thing, it is never an easy decision to harm ourselves in anyways....we look for alternatives , choose ending pain altogether over healing -- which could be more painful and seemingly not possible--- but I believe so , and will continue to believe.... healing is possible , there's no pain , a certain amount of kindness and support can't heal ... sure we can't completely shoo it away, but we can try and reduce the intensity -- we can, it is very much possible ! However it is not a one day thing...and needs time , support and will.... and we are always allowed to take our time through things....never a rush !
I feel 7 cups is a heavenly place, because it has some of the most kindest and most amazing-est people here --- I mean !? What is more beautiful than trying to support and make a complete stranger's day better :o ....I've said it before , and I am firm still, there's alot of beauty in this anonymity here -- because of the anonymous nature, we feel more safer and one thing sure is that we connect with people genuinely-- solely based on how a certain someone makes us feel .
