@Tazzie Hello Tazzie, Hello everyone! I just joined today. I just couldnt take it anymore. I need to be heard. So many things but I just feel like I have and have ALWAYS had a silent scream. I cant wait to speak to others like myself or at least to someone who can help and understand, genuinely.

@LavenderFlame1121

You have the silent scream in your head too??? I always feel like that!! Like, I've got this normal face on, but inside, there is a crazy screaming lady who has no idea what to do and freaks out at everything. Thanks for posting and making me feel like I'm not alone!

Hi there @Tazzie, thanks for the welcome!

I've been battling with depression for 19yrs (half my life!) and am in a long-term relationship with someone who really struggles with anxiety and a bit of depression. Over the last couple of years I have generally been doing a lot better in myself, but really recently have started feeling rubbish again. I also had a conversation with my partner that was really sad, and I want to know more about what I can do for him. I was in such a state after that conversation that I went online and typed into Google, "is there someone I can talk to" - and 7 Cups came up.

For self-care; I only work part-time, I have started Slimming World and I see a counsellor (but that is expensive). I recently took up crochet and have really taken to that, but all my hobbies easily slip when I'm feeling blue. Otherwise I need plenty of rest in between work, so I/we watch Netflix a LOT but this is not proper self-care as all I'm doing is delaying having to deal with life/chores/etc. and nothing productive gets done (unless I happen to be in the mood to crochet). We have a cat, and she makes me feel better because we chose to adopt a senior kitty (second one now) because they often get overlooked.

So yeah, I am here now because I have started to feel awful again after a period of getting better, and I really just want it to stop! I absolutely hate being depressed as it sucks all the enjoyment out of life, stops me doing the things I want to do and prevents me from making big changes that need to happen. I am on meds, and it's taken some time to get to a combo that works for me. I've seen countless therapists over the years, and my current counsellor is wonderful but costs more than I can really cope with.

On top of this, I don't really know how best to help my wonderful partner of 5 years. He has thankfully managed to get back to work after 4 years of not being able to face it, but every shift causes him anxiety and every other *thing that needs doing in life* drains his energy to the point that much gets neglected or ignored because he just can't do it. His sleep is all over the place as well, just to add to the exhaustion that plagues him.

We need help!

Thanks for reading!

@Tazzie

Hi I joined yesterday and found this on google. I was very stressed about an exam I had today, but I passed it! My biggest problem is procrastinating, which causes me a lot of stress and insecurity. So I found this to talk to some people and can't wait to give and get more support!

For self-care I like to go for a walk, do some stretches or listen to music and relax.

Hello... I'm new and overwhelmed with all this. Just the navigation alone is cumbersome. But, I'm desperate for human companionship. Extremely lonely, tired and wore out. Life used to be so food. Now, I'm just trying to find my spark.

I just joined i go through depression and anxiety on the daily basis and its not fun sometimes i really need someone to talk to and that can listen to me but its not easy especially since Ive been through so many counselors going up and they just say the same stuff they say depression and anxiety go away but it gets far worse as you get older dealing with. Demons on your own . But i just wanted to say Im here to talk to anyone that just needs a friend and to vent to someone i give great advice sometimes i dont take my own advice though .

Hi

I also just joined, and feel very weird to write this, but I know that this will help me, I have been very stressed lately about finding a job, just completed my bachelor's degree, the future seems so uncertain, and that gives me alot of anxiety. I also feel I have lost myself over the past 2 years, and I am on a journey to rediscover who I am. Feels nice to write this after all..

@NiceWriter I was just scrolling through these posts and I can definitely relate to yours - when I finished my bachelor's it took me months to find a job (and I ended up crawling back to my old job I had while in school). The whole experience was so demoralizing.

But I'm here with a positive message - the road looks different for all of us but if you keep yourself open for opportunities and be willing to embrace change (and the challenges that come with it), things will get better. I'm feeling far more positive about my future than I was when I graduated 2 years ago. I've had 2 jobs since then and am now in a longterm position I love (but I never would have expected to!)

Good luck!!

@Tazzie

i'm not doing super great. i'm in a weird life transition right now and i'm struggling with depression, lonliness, and anxiety. i have a job interview today and just when i started to feel better from the depression i've been feeling the last few days, i get hit with serious anxiety about the interview. everything is exhausting.
i like to light candles, do yoga, listen to/play/sing music, take baths, and hug someone.
i heard about 7 cups from google.

hope everybody is doing well today. hopefully what im feeling will pass. it all just feels pointless these days, but i guess i have to keep going. i get to see my long-distance partner in a few days, so i'll look forward to that for now.

I'm in a better place than I've been in the past. I sing to myself and take showers for self care and I saw a tumbler post about 7cups.
