Actually, yes. Many people feel depressed and don't realize it. It is usually the family member or friend that brings it to their attention.

Probably. It's because maybe you are focusing on some other things that you don't even notice you're doing that because of depression.

Of course, when i was 6/7 i knew i felt sad, hopeless, helpless all the time i didn't know what depression meant until i got diagnosed by a medical professional. There is also quizzes online now "depression quiz" but don't take that as a diagnosis i suggest you see a medical professional to officially diagnose you and to get you on the right medication. hope this helped xx take care

Definitely! Depression, just like any illness, can go diagnosed for ages. A lot of people feel like that is how they are "supposed to feel", just like how someone who needs glasses might not realise they do until they try some on.

Yes. You might not want to say you're dealing with depression because of the negative stigma that surrounds mental illness. Thus, you try to rule it out as one of the possibilities

From my past experience, I kept wondering why I felt "funny". It was bothering me of why I lost motivation for things that really made me happy. I noticed I ended up sleeping more and started procrastinating. After talking to friends and family they mentioned I wasn't myself and seemed depressed. So I believe you can be depressed and not know it until others mention that you seem different or feel different yourself.

Yes, it's a new feeling that you're starting to notice. When you do know that you have the symptoms of depression, you should tell someone that way it would be so much easier then going through it alone.

Well, I'd argue yes depending on your knowledge of depression. I had two major depressive episodes without knowing that they were authentic bouts of depression until I got diagnosed later.

You might not have put the word to it, but if you are seeking help, something might be wrong on a level you can't clearly pinpoint yet.

Yes it is possible I assume. At times the level of depression is not high. So one cannot know he or she is depressed. U can always consult a therapist to help you.

because you just thinking that you're stressed over things also a small amount of knowledge about mental health. Since you don't really know about mental health especially the illnesses, so you don't really care about an anomaly on your soul. Or people's stigma about mental illness which drives you to trying to feel okay 24/7 and be strong over your illness. The fact is, you need to get a diagnose from a mental health practitioner about your depression and being told about what treatment that fit with yourself. So, it's important to get a diagnose first from a professional also the treatment regarding to the illness as soon as possible before the depression get worse

Yes! Sometimes, mental health can be in disguise, the same goes as our physical health! However, that does not mean that we should simply brush it off! It is a real concern that needs to be taken into consideration. What could be done is analyzing the diagnosis of depression and considering if one faces the symptoms of depression. It is nothing to be ashamed of, of course! The awareness of depression should be spread and may not even present the worse symptoms, but can be severe in the long run if it is not treated! Always take a moment to breathe and think about how you feel and what you can do to heal yourself!
