...See more Need some support achieving your wellness huddle goal? Share here what type of support you need. It could be ieas for breaking down your goal into a smaller step, ideas for reducing a barrier, help with figuring out the SMART structure for your goal or you need some extra encouragement after a setback, etc! We can then offer the support you're seeking.  This is a supplement to the group chat - sometimes a slower pace allows for new ideas to pop up, and it sticks around for all timezones.

Shared Spaces, Shared Respect: A Reminder on Tolerance & Inclusivity
by Heather225

...See more Hi everyone! 7 Cups is, at its core, a global sanctuary built on empathy, acceptance, and community. We host a wide variety of group chat rooms to ensure that every individual, regardless of their background, struggles, or identity, has a safe place to feel seen and supported. We want to address a situation that occasionally comes up across our platform, particularly within our LGBTQ+ room, regarding how we interact with spaces that might not apply to us. Sometimes, individuals enter a room simply to express discomfort with its presence on their sidebar or to ask how to remove it. Entering any topic-based support room, whether it’s for the LGBTQ+ community, grief support, chronic illness, (etc., to question its visibility can unintentionally disrupt the supportive environment inside. For communities that may already face outside challenges, our rooms need to remain absolute safe havens. When an interaction makes members feel like they have to defend their right to be visible, it impacts the core purpose of that support group. True tolerance means embracing that spaces exist for everyone, respecting their right to be visible, and allowing those rooms to remain peaceful and inclusive. How the Chat List Works To clear up any confusion and prevent these unintended disruptions: * Active public rooms display automatically so those in need can find them. Listings cannot be customized or hidden individually. * Visibility is not enrollment: Seeing a room on the list does not mean you are a member or obligated to engage. * You choose where to enter: If a room or topic doesn’t apply to your life or beliefs, you simply do not have to enter. The most supportive choice you can make for your fellow members is to just scroll past. No matter which room you visit or find comfort in: You belong here, you are welcome, and your spaces are valid. Let’s continue to choose kindness, hold ourselves to a high standard of mutual respect, and do our caring community proud. ------------------------- Please review our full 7 Cups Community Guidelines to learn more about our standards for respect, safety, and inclusivity. Time to be a Cheerleader - Chain of support
by GoldenRuleJG

...See more You are someone's cheerleader out there - If you are feeling low, down or feel you are comparing yourself a lot to others lets think of the positives :)  Write down any successes you've had as a listener - for example a comment that touched your heart from a service user or fellow listener. You can start big or small; it doesnt matter. Do it non-judgementally.  Rule - Do not look at what others wrote and write the first think that comes to mind - think instinct.  Chain opened:  A new person felt safe in a listener support room Continue chain guys and gals.... At the end please give one word to reflect how you felt doing this exercise before vs after.

...See more At 7 Cups, All are Welcome. We welcome all who show good conduct, genuinely seek support, and respect community guidelines. Did you see someone in one of our chatrooms [https://www.7cups.com/connect/groupChatrooms.php] with the following two qualities? 1) Was welcoming to those coming in the room, 2) *Was asking icebreaker so that all may feel included in the chat. {an icebreaker as simple as 'how is everyone doing?' to as creative as 'what would you do if you were given unlimited cookies?' -select an icebreaker based on the nature and mood of the room!} *The second point is only when no session or guided discussion is already happening in the room. Please use this thread to give them a shout-out. If you want to do it creatively, make a graphic for them too!

Discussions on Dissociative Disorders
by audienta
Last post
March 28th, 2023
...See more Hello everyone, As some might have seen in the trauma support subforum, I've started a project to spread awareness and education on dissociative disorders a little more than a week ago. I've recognized that there's a big interest in discussions on all dissociative disorders and on dissociative systems. I've thought about the following plan, but I'd love to hear your feedback: 1. I'm currently working on a chat support guide regarding dissociative disorders. It will have a quiz at the end, and I would like to make that mandatory for every host. In addition to that, we've created scripts that could be used by the hosts during the discussion. 2. I've created a dashboard with a calendar where the hosts can insert their name for the discussions they want to host. I've already got the names of about 15 people who'd like to host these events, and I'd invite them to the dashboard after they've done the dissociative disorders quiz. 3. I'd like to start with two discussions a week, with alternating times. For example, a discussion on dissociative systems every Wednesday, every other week on 2 PM and then on 6 AM EST, and a discussion on all dissociative disorders every Friday, with alternating times as well. What are your thoughts on this plan? Take care, audienta

Group Support Team Collaboration Update April 2022
by Sher217

...See more Hey Everyone, I’m checking in regarding the Group Support Team Collaboration Effort. (If you would like to read the original announcement, by ASilentObserver, it can be found here: Support Team Plan - A Collaborative Effort [https://www.7cups.com/forum/GroupModZone_168/CommunityManagersOffice_2008/SupportTeamPlanACollaborativeEffort_270219/].) I’d like to share a short recap of how it works: What’s the Goal? * The goal is for Group Support leaders to come together to provide more sessions to the Cups Community to engage in. * The goal is also to pull together to provide coverage on Topics tht may not be receiving attention (due to low staffing with subcommunities). How does this work? * Subcommunities are grouped together to form new Teams (according to a topic) * The new Teams are separated according to Age Group of the session (Teen side or Adult side) * Group Support roles (STL, Chat Mods, RS and Hosts) join together with others, on their new Team, to host sessions. What are the Teams? * The Teen side has 2 Teams * Mental Health Team * Lifestyle Team * The Adult side has 6 Teams * Group 1 Team * Group 2 Team * Group 3 Team * Group 4 Team * Group 5 Team * Group 6 Team * Don’t worry if you aren’t sure which Team your subcommunity is on, I can help with that Where will these sessions take place? * I’ll be coordinating the schedule for these sessions to be held in the “General Support” rooms, on each side. * If the General Support room is already booked on a particular day & time, you can open your subcommunity specific room as well. I’ll be reaching out to the Subcommunity Team Leaders to answer any questions, offer support in any areas they need, share the link to the GS Collaboration Dashboard, and start scheduling sessions, so please feel free to PM me as well, if needed. The Group Support RoundTable: March Edition
by ASilentObserver
Last post
April 3rd, 2022
...See more Hi everyone! I am excited to share with you this new idea that we were working on for like a month. We call it: The Group Support Roundtable!! Group Support Roundtable utilizes a magazine format and shares the thoughts of the users and leaders of Group Support. It is an effort to share and communicate what one thinks about chat rooms, or a group support role and how they see it making a difference in the community. We all come from different backgrounds and have our rough days too but it is so beautiful to see how everyone comes together in the chatroom to share, support, listen or even complain and share feedback together on various topics. It is so lovely to see what our members and leaders built in the chatroom. I know it is not perfect and there is a way to go to make it better than ever, but these community collective thoughts are a reflection that every single step counts even though we may not realize the impact it’s making at the time. I hope you all find it meaningful and it helps bring in more support to many out there who haven't met us yet in the chatrooms. Honest feedback is welcome! And please join me to appreciate or simply say “Hi” to all these amazing people who are present in the chatrooms every day making a difference in their own unique ways and approaches. A pleasure to have you with us! Please find the first edition here! Open the link!
