...See more Hi everyone! 7 Cups is, at its core, a global sanctuary built on empathy, acceptance, and community. We host a wide variety of group chat rooms to ensure that every individual, regardless of their background, struggles, or identity, has a safe place to feel seen and supported. We want to address a situation that occasionally comes up across our platform, particularly within our LGBTQ+ room, regarding how we interact with spaces that might not apply to us. Sometimes, individuals enter a room simply to express discomfort with its presence on their sidebar or to ask how to remove it. Entering any topic-based support room, whether it’s for the LGBTQ+ community, grief support, chronic illness, (etc., to question its visibility can unintentionally disrupt the supportive environment inside. For communities that may already face outside challenges, our rooms need to remain absolute safe havens. When an interaction makes members feel like they have to defend their right to be visible, it impacts the core purpose of that support group. True tolerance means embracing that spaces exist for everyone, respecting their right to be visible, and allowing those rooms to remain peaceful and inclusive. How the Chat List Works To clear up any confusion and prevent these unintended disruptions: * Active public rooms display automatically so those in need can find them. Listings cannot be customized or hidden individually. * Visibility is not enrollment: Seeing a room on the list does not mean you are a member or obligated to engage. * You choose where to enter: If a room or topic doesn’t apply to your life or beliefs, you simply do not have to enter. The most supportive choice you can make for your fellow members is to just scroll past. No matter which room you visit or find comfort in: You belong here, you are welcome, and your spaces are valid. The room grew cold. Because the window was open. A cat jumped through the window....down the street and into the crowd below. we saw purple bubbles over the people. why does it smell like grape shampoo 😂 the grape realised it had held its breath until it turned purple 😮. we turned grape into juice. The other grapes barricaded themselves inside of a fortress so they would be safe from being turned into juice, too, while holding a private memorial, for the grape that was a goner" 😇r.i.p 🍇⚰️

...See more We know how much you all love having @SantaCups around for extra holiday fun. We heard loud and clear that you missed that extra bit of magic and fun in the rooms this year. As such, we decided the fun shouldn't have to end just because the holidays are over! We are so excited to announce the launch of an "off-duty" Community Moderator persona on the teen side! While our moderators are usually busy keeping the community safe and running smoothly, this specific identity is all about fun and casual engagement. @OffDutyCups is shared by our entire Community Mod team as a way to spend quality time with you all doing any of the following: * Host quick games and trivia. * Do random "drop-in" visits to say hi. * Hang out and chat in a low-pressure, casual way. * Bring those "SantaCups vibes" to the community all year round! Research shows that balance is better than complete shut down #2 plan out your day in the mornings before using your phone for anything +1 if we check our phones first thing, we give ourselves free anxiety #3 share your goals on 7 Cups. pick 3 top things to do. come to TCR/your group chat and say them. we also have a weekly goal thread if interested too. #4 only check-in after the first task gets completed. so we can cheer for you #5 take a study/task break and come have fun on cups #6 return to work, knowing people are waiting for your day to end on a good note #7 use 7 cups one line a day journal or the forums to conclude the day with a summary of what you achieved and what you found challenging #8 learn, grow, reflect, tweak schedules Time is a created thing. I would like to announce a really exciting initiative that those in charge of the community moderation team have created so that we, as community moderators, can get your feedback about how we’re doing. It’s called the… Community Moderator Feedback Form! What is this form? This form is a way for you to give your thoughts about how us community mods rate on a few different factors i.e. professionalism, fast response to PMs (... I know I suffer from this one), etc. Isn’t this just a report form? No! This is not a replacement for reporting. When you report a moderator, it is for a specific behavior or situation. This form is for overall feedback. But Lou, how do I evaluate you if you’re in charge of the form? I am not in charge of the form. I’m just the little robot messenger. Admin will be reading the form and providing us feedback based on your responses! Will the Comm Mods see my responses and know I sent them? Nope! While we encourage you to put your username so we know someone isn’t using the form in bad faith (for example, spamming because they’re unhappy with the mod), your username will not be shared with us. How is this useful? This can give us mods valuable feedback about our different moderation styles, where we can improve as individual moderators, and where we can improve as a team! Can I evaluate more than one moderator? Absolutely! To do so, please submit one form for EACH mod for whom you would like to leave feedback, or if you would like to leave feedback for the Community Mod Team overall, there is an option to leave feedback for the whole team. Some things to remember * Be honest! Remember, the best feedback is honest, thorough, clear, kind, and constructive. We can’t grow from mean statements. * Think generally not specifically. Make sure you’re evaluating the moderator based on all of your experiences, not just one time. * You should only evaluate the moderators that you feel you can give a fair evaluation to. Unless you’re awake 24/7 (I hope not!), you won’t have met every moderator. In fact, you might see some names on this last and think, “Who is that?!” Please only fill out the form for moderators that you have been around many times.
