Games Chart Aid Resource for Choosing a Game to Play
by GoldenRuleJG
Last post
August 5th
...See more Hey guys,  I've created a  Games Chart for when it comes to hosting sessions, noting the games we have played so far. :)  We've had lots of fun as a community joining in these games mentioned that contributed to light-heartedness  Lets look at the menu below:  🍕 Pizza Chat Games Menu 🍕 (Each slice = one type of fun!) 🧩 1. This or That Slice Pick between two options — coffee ☕ or tea 🍵, cats 🐱 or dogs 🐶 — and see what everyone chooses! 🕵️‍♀️ 2. 20 Questions Slice Think of something mysterious. Others get 20 yes/no questions to guess what it is! 📖 3. Dictionary Slice Share a  word. Everyone comes up with a creative way to answer it - doesn't need to be literal but if you want it to be thats ok <3  💨 4. As Many As You Can Slice Choose a topic (like fruits, songs, or cities) and name as many as possible before time runs out! ❄️ 5. Icebreaker Slice Ask light, fun questions — “What’s your comfort movie?” or “If you could teleport, where first?” 🔤 6. ABCD Slice Go around naming items in order of the alphabet for a chosen topic — e.g., Animals: 🐜, 🐻, 🐈, 🐬… 🧠 7. Riddle Slice Drop riddles for others to solve — the trickier (or sillier), the better! 🌍 8. Interesting Facts Slice Share a cool fact — about yourself or the world. Bonus points if it surprises everyone! 💎 9. Design Jewellery Slice (Emoji Edition) Use emojis to “design” rings, necklaces, or bracelets! Example: 💫💎🌸💎💫 — “Star Bloom Necklace.” ✍️ 10. Word Builder Slice Make as many words as you can from a set of letters. Example: from HEART ➜ art, ear, rat, heat. 💖 11. Compliment Battle Slice Take turns giving the sweetest or funniest compliments. Whoever smiles first loses (or wins 😉).

Have you ever seen fireflies? - Magical experience from childhood
by Joe85
Last post
August 3rd
...See more So I grew up in a small town where summer evenings were quiet and breezy. I remember seeing them since I was 7-8 years old. There was a huge marking nut tree next to my house and during late summers it would be swarming with them at night. Hundreds of them. They would also be on the bushes, hedges, and plants of all sorts. Sometimes they used to come inside our house, mostly visible during blackouts at night. I've even had one sitting on my hand. It was a truly magical experience. Seeing light glowing inside tiny living creatures felt like holding a little miracle in my palm.✨ As I grew up, their appearance became less and less every year. Perhaps it was the radiation from the telecom towers, the increased use of chemicals in nearby farms, or maybe something else was dimming their presence. I think the last time I saw one was when I was 14. We permanently moved out of that town at the time. It's been 15 years and I haven't seen a single firefly since. Recently I read an article [https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/article/fireflies-population-lightning-bugs-conservation/] saying fireflies are disappearing all over the world, with habitat loss, pesticide use, and light pollution among the biggest threats to their survival. Their populations are declining rapidly, and if this continues, many of their species could go extinct within a generation. It broke my heart and brought back all the beautiful memories. Watching them flicker in the dark, feeling amazed by something so simple and real - like a tiny spectacle from childhood, glowing just long enough to stay with you forever.💫❤️ Tagging the people I'd like to read this: @unique73 @lueurspace @isitizzy @nilena @LittleEggHarbor @BeeCake @CommunityModAnne @TheNorthstar7 @myredroses @pluckyWalker8208 @friedpotatoes @lavalavau @virtualSolace44 @Caelis @DreamTouch @kindGlobe7955 @intelligentPrune8948

Giving The Gift of Confidence: Donating My Hair
by TovaCares76
Last post
July 19th
...See more Hello! Tova here, and I'm back with a new personal adventure story!  In 2020, I lost 60% of my hair due to a traumatic fall. The hair loss is called telogen effluvium, and it can happen after a serious accident, illness or trauma. The neat part? Your hair grows back in white and for some people, you can even grow in a white patch! The bad news? You lose hair. Sometimes it doesn't grow back. I was scared that would happen to me. At first, the doctor told me it was female pattern balding, and there was nothing I could do but try to grow it back in. Thankfully, it was just the TE. I hated it so much I covered my head. It was embarrassing, I had big patches of hair loss. I prayed often, and I promised God that if I someday grow my thick hair back in, I would grow it to my waist and donate it all. Well, I reached that milestone this past week, and cut it all off! :) I chose Locks of Love as my donation location. I have donated to them before in the past and I love their mission! Locks of Love is a nonprofit organization in the United States that provides hairpieces to children and young adults experiencing medical hair loss due to conditions such as alopecia, burns, cancer treatments, and other health-related causes. They accept donated hair that is used to create high-quality wigs and other hair prosthetics for kids ages 6-21 regardless of their background, race, religion or gender, and they are NEVER charged a single dime.   If you are looking to donate your hair, here's how you do it:  * Grow your hair to the required length, which for Locks of Love is 10 inches.  * Visit a salon or have your hair cut according to the donation guidelines. * Place the cut hair (make sure it's in a braid or ponytail!) in a sealed plastic bag. * Mail your donation to Locks of Love using the address listed on their website. There are lots of other ways you can help support this cause if you cannot grow out your hair!  💙 Make a financial donation to support the creation and distribution of hair prosthetics.  💙 Volunteer at fundraising events. 💙 Share information about Locks of Love and other donation groups with friends and family. 💙 Organize a hair donation drive in your community. Your hair could mean the difference in a child's confidence and self-esteem! I highly encourage hair donation, especially if you're a lucky girlie with long thick hair like me. Well, I *did* have long hair...now it's above my shoulders. It makes me so happy that my hair will someday be part of a wig that makes a young person feel better about themselves. :)  Have you ever donated your hair or know someone who has? If not, do you have a favorite charity or nonprofit that you like to work with or donate to? I love to hear stories of sharing strength and hope with others! Share your experience below!

Mindfulness Exercises!

...See more Hey hey everyone, hope July has been treating you well! 💛 Half a year over, and honestly, one of my "to practice more often" kinda resolutions at the beginning of this year was to incorporate more mindfulness in my daily routine. Life happened XD, and I haven't been as regular with it as I'd like, but heyyy I have the rest of this year with me still, and I'll definitely keep trying! 🥰 On the same pursuit today, I randomly remembered that we have soooo many mindfulness exercises listed here on 7 Cups as well. It is actually one of the very first things that I really enjoyed finding here while in my exploration phase hehe.  They arent hidden but they are also not quite "prominently visible" I feel, sooo sharing the list here with everyone too!  HERE- https://www.7cups.com/exercises/mindfulness/?showlist=1 Have you tried any of these? How did you feel?  Are there any other audio/ video based mindfulness exercises you like more? Feel free to share! 🥰

Reflecting on time with seven cups
by peachYard9035
Last post

...See more I joined seven cups almost 8 years ago, and this account 6 years ago in a month.  When I first joined the community I was young, and going through a lot of things I didn’t have names for at the time. I felt as though I didn’t matter and was in one of the darkest times of my life, it didn’t help that the people I was surrounded by were all struggling the same. And in hindsight none of us were positive influences on each other. This led to me starting down a path that could have spiraled into something much worse.  It was around this time when I started middle school and covid hit, and I was alone with my thoughts and isolated to confront myself more than ever before, which is when I started chatting on seven cups more. Waiting in long cues and rambling on about far too many problems at once to listeners, chatting in group chats and trivia events. Through these means, even though I was in a dark place mentally, even spiralling to self destructive tendencies, that I started to learn more about the ways I could identity and present to the world. Seven cups was my first experience with the lgtbt community as the people in my life weren’t exactly positive on the idea, so I’d had no knowledge of the group at the time.  Eventually I started to learn more about myself, identity, sexuality, and ways I could cope with the thoughts I had. It took me a long time, and at the start everything about it was Terrifying. I remember the first time I bought clothes of the opposite gender I biked to the other side of my city in a thrift store just to make sure I wouldn’t run into anyone, and tried them on in a gas station bathroom. On the way back I got hit by a car because I was too nervous to pay attention. Thankfully I wasn’t hurt, but I remember when I got hit my biggest concern wasn’t my health, it my the fear that my parents would find out I’d been buying female clothes. I was starting highschool at this time and confronted with many more people expressing themselves, which is what pushed me to try and be more confident in who I was, even if my fear of my family finding out was larger then ever. My grandpa always complained my hair was too long, and I was always put in all boys programs. I can’t describe the relief I had when I convinced my parents to not make me go to an all boys school.  Even though I was becoming more at peace with my gender, well, at least I knew I wasn’t cis, and even then I was constantly worried I wasn’t making a mistake, I still struggled with my mental health and depression. Struggling to hide it from my parents. It all collapsed at the end of grade 9, when my parents found the hiding place for my clothes and tools, and confronted me with everything. They were harsh and accusatory, and I can’t say it was a positive experience. One of my biggest regrets is not having had the chance to come out myself. However it was not all bad. I went to therapy finally, and found it actually worked better than I wanted to admit, and my parents also started to learn more about the community and what I was and what I was going through, and in grade 10 I was officially diagnosed with gender dysphoria and started HRT.  Slowly throughout the following years I learned to know myself more and be more accepting and aware of who I was and struggles I’d faced. Im proud to say that my parents are now my strongest advocates, and I at last have a group of friends who are more supportive than I could have asked for. i just finished my second year of university, and had bottom surgery 2 months ago, and although there’s been ups and downs, I’m very happy. I’m not out to everyone, including some extremely against the idea extended family, but I’ve done what 11 year old peachyard never throught was possible.  I owe a lot of this to seven cups, i remember looking desperately for free online chats, and even trying some that pushed my in the wrong direction, when I found this community. If it weren’t for the listener program and the group chats, I may never have come to be who I am today, and may not even be here at all. if you’ve bothered to read all this, I just wanted to say thanks. And know that it can get better, people change, it’s kind of the main thing about being human. So don’t give up hope. I’m glad at last that I can say goodbye to the community. So long, and thanks for all the fish!              Peachyard
