...See more Need some support achieving your wellness huddle goal? Share here what type of support you need. It could be ieas for breaking down your goal into a smaller step, ideas for reducing a barrier, help with figuring out the SMART structure for your goal or you need some extra encouragement after a setback, etc! We can then offer the support you're seeking.  This is a supplement to the group chat - sometimes a slower pace allows for new ideas to pop up, and it sticks around for all timezones.

Shared Spaces, Shared Respect: A Reminder on Tolerance & Inclusivity
by Heather225
Last post
July 12th
...See more Hi everyone! 7 Cups is, at its core, a global sanctuary built on empathy, acceptance, and community. We host a wide variety of group chat rooms to ensure that every individual, regardless of their background, struggles, or identity, has a safe place to feel seen and supported. We want to address a situation that occasionally comes up across our platform, particularly within our LGBTQ+ room, regarding how we interact with spaces that might not apply to us. Sometimes, individuals enter a room simply to express discomfort with its presence on their sidebar or to ask how to remove it. Entering any topic-based support room, whether it’s for the LGBTQ+ community, grief support, chronic illness, (etc., to question its visibility can unintentionally disrupt the supportive environment inside. For communities that may already face outside challenges, our rooms need to remain absolute safe havens. When an interaction makes members feel like they have to defend their right to be visible, it impacts the core purpose of that support group. True tolerance means embracing that spaces exist for everyone, respecting their right to be visible, and allowing those rooms to remain peaceful and inclusive. How the Chat List Works To clear up any confusion and prevent these unintended disruptions: * Active public rooms display automatically so those in need can find them. Listings cannot be customized or hidden individually. * Visibility is not enrollment: Seeing a room on the list does not mean you are a member or obligated to engage. * You choose where to enter: If a room or topic doesn’t apply to your life or beliefs, you simply do not have to enter. The most supportive choice you can make for your fellow members is to just scroll past. No matter which room you visit or find comfort in: You belong here, you are welcome, and your spaces are valid. Let’s continue to choose kindness, hold ourselves to a high standard of mutual respect, and do our caring community proud. ------------------------- Please review our full 7 Cups Community Guidelines to learn more about our standards for respect, safety, and inclusivity. Actually Listening
by CalmRosebud
Last post
August 21st
...See more Hey everyone! Quick thoughts on something I’ve been working on lately: Actually Listening.     Most of us jump straight into "fix-it" mode the second a friend vents. We start giving advice, telling them what to do, or subtly judging the situation. But honestly? That usually just shuts people down.     If we want to really be there for each other, we need to switch things up:   * Zip the advice: Seriously, just hold back on the "you should do this" comments.   * Zero judgment: No critiquing, no lecturing, and no deciding if they are right or wrong.   * Validate them: Just let them know you hear them. A simple "man, that sucks" or "I get why you're stressed" goes a long way.   * Trust them: Give them the space to breathe and figure out their own next steps. They’ve got this.   Love ♡ and Courage 💪🏽, Calm Rosebud 🕊️🌹

Exploration Garden: Relaunch!
by Heather225
Last post
August 18th
...See more The Exploration Garden has been live for 2 years now! This powerful space has helped us focus on exploring our feelings and experiences using questions for exploration apart from support. This room fosters deeper connections and thinking amongst our participants and is an upgrade/bridge from the Sharing Circle, wherein no questions or exploration occurs. In light of changes including moderator/facilitator availability and the need/requests of more coverage of having this space open, we have decided to convert the room into a closed group. Closed groups on 7 Cups are private, 24/7 badge-locked rooms that foster a culture of safety and support. Our admins as well as interested hosts/listeners/and leaders are invited to help maintain oversight of this shared space. Here is how everyone can continue to access and benefit from this space: * Apply for the “Growth Explorer” badge HERE [https://forms.gle/scfTCB6LaQfP8QB28]. All regular users of the Exploration Garden will receive this badge for access to the group. In addition, anyone interested can apply for this badge after reviewing the Guide [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cMu6p6eSrlqV3StpeY4SX4MRBsBdCPwhRiU_pKvRSZI/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.qdbuzu49b1l1] Please note that users who do not adhere to the Exploration Garden rules will lose access to this space. We will roll out a report form to help with any concerns about user behavior. * You can still sign up to lead sessions by filling up this form [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScjtDkb4M8XXOZMh1ClAoo-ZYq5fNPohtB1MwxXozv2d4p04A/viewform] * In addition to the above access levels, everyone who enrolls into a Growth Circle will automatically be awarded access to the Exploration Garden. Growth Circles will help participants build skills, improve well-being, and form peer support connections through a structured but flexible process involving different therapeutic features on 7 Cups. They will be launched soon during June 2025. * To optimize the Exploration Garden space and build opportunities for further exploration we will be posting (and welcome others to help post): * Weekly/Daily Exploration Prompts * Themed Exploration Days or Topics * An Exploration Library with exploration questions/prompts to help users explore certain areas * Occasional Check-In Circles which could happen “live” in between/just like hosted hours. To launch this new structure, we are hosting a live launch event/Exploration Circle on Wednesday, 11th of June 2025 at 12 PM EDT (New York) time. Please join us and fill the above form to gain access to the event if interested. 🌱 We welcome feedback and ideas for continued exploration and growth. Please feel welcome to reach out to @SoulfullyAButterfly, @Heather225 and @ASilentObserver for any questions or concerns.

What to Do When Someone Needs Space After a Misunderstanding
by Heather225
Last post
July 28th
...See more Misunderstandings happen to all of us. Sometimes a joke misses the mark, tone gets lost in text, or we accidentally hurt someone's feelings. When this happens, it can leave you feeling awkward, guilty, or excluded. This is especially true if the other person stops wanting to interact with you afterward. Sometimes, neither person is in the wrong! Personalities simply clash, and maybe you just don't vibe, and that is okay! If you find yourself in this situation, there are a few practical ways to manage it and keep our shared spaces comfortable! 1. Apologize Once If you realize you upset someone, the best first step is to take accountability. Say you are sorry for the impact of your words, even if your intent was misunderstood. Apologize once or twice and then step back. Repeatedly sending apologies can feel overwhelming to the other person (so don't overdo it). 2. Respect the Silence Sometimes the other person might not respond after you apologize. They might ignore you entirely. It is painful to be ignored. Feeling sad or frustrated by that reaction is completely normal. So, acknowledge your own feelings in yourself, but also see silence as a boundary. Try to view their lack of response as a request for space rather than a personal attack. By not engaging, they are communicating that they need a break. Honoring that boundary is the best thing you can do. 3. Coexist Peacefully You do not have to be close friends with everyone to share the same rooms. If you are in the same group chat as someone who needs space from you, you can still participate. 👉 Focus on the group: Direct your energy toward the wider conversation and the members who are actively engaging with you. 👉 Do not force interaction: If the other person speaks in the room, let other members reply to them. You do not need to jump in. 👉 Take a breather: If the tension in a specific room makes you uncomfortable, explore other rooms for a little while. A change of scenery helps. 4. Give It Time You cannot control how long it takes for someone else to move on, but you can control your own actions. Give them space and continue being your usual supportive self. The awkwardness will fade naturally over time! ------------------------- Have you ever had to navigate a misunderstanding online? What helped you get through it? Let's talk about it below!

I love it here, and im not knowing where to start. I dont want to make any mistakes but its hard to know when I dont even know what was reported.

...See more I am so tried, lazy i don't know what I have to do with my problems i don't know it is real problem or not but I am sharing 😭 On May 3rd, at the age of 17, I moved alone to a town called Chakia to prepare for my 12th boards. For the first few days, I faced a lot of challenges, but I handled them. Slowly, I started managing all my daily chores and my studies perfectly well. But two weeks ago, I traveled from my village to Chakia, stayed at a relative's place, and arrived at my rented room at 11 PM on a Sunday. I called my landlord, and he came out to the balcony. He was furious and kept scolding me for 5 minutes straight. The older brother who had accompanied me started arguing with him, saying, 'Talk to his parents, why are you scolding the kid?' This escalated into a huge argument. When I finally went into my room that night, I was terrified. The next evening, I had to go to a relative's place and returned on Tuesday morning. When I took out my phone to check the time, the screen had gone completely blank. I panicked so much that I didn't think of anything else; I walked 1 km in 34°C heat without a cap to a trusted repair shop, got it fixed, and came back. That same night, some close relatives who live far away visited my village and came to pick me up. I couldn't say no and went with them. By the time I returned, I was so exhausted that I didn't eat properly, nor did I go to my coaching library. Ultimately, I didn't study at all that entire week. By the second week, I was so burnt out that I had to slowly start everything again from scratch. Then on Wednesday, I received a message that coaching was closed for a few days, so I spent the entire week just in my room. On Friday, when I went to pay rent to the landlord, I didn't include the electricity bill, which made him start arguing with me. I spoke to my dad and got everything sorted, but that very same day, my mobile screen went blank again. I felt incredibly lonely. I am not very good at making friends, so I don't have any in this city. I usually share my problems with AI like Gemini, so without my phone, that crushing loneliness hit me again. I walked that 1 km back to the shop to complain. The repairman said the display wasn't suitable and I would need to replace it. I reminded him he was the one who installed it, but he insisted I'd have to pay the full amount again for a new one. I just got it temporarily fixed and came back without replacing it because my dad was already having trouble paying the rent, so I decided to manage with it as long as it works. Yesterday (Monday) morning, I returned from my village at 4:50 AM, but my coaching center's location had changed. I went to the old location, didn't know the new one, and they hadn't informed us on WhatsApp either, so I ended up missing coaching. In the evening, an online order of mine arrived. Since I couldn't pay online, I used the cash meant for the electricity bill to pay for it. My landlord was working nearby, and I panicked, thinking he was judging me for buying things instead of paying his electricity bill. I rushed back to my room and, in full panic, tried to check my bank balance, but the server kept showing as down. When it finally worked, my account got blocked for 24 hours. To fix this, I hurriedly changed my PIN, rushed to the landlord, paid his money in a panic, and came back. And today morning, I woke up late and missed coaching again. Why am I so lazy 😔
