...See more Had to work for a school event today and it drained my social battery. Roughly a few days prior my friends and I made a plan to go out Friday of this week. I warned one of them yesterday that if the event were to drain me I wouldn't want to go out the next day. The day ends and I let that same friend know that I'm tired from everything and that I would sleep in the next day, meaning I won't make it to the hangout. The thing with them is they won't express their feeling to the person and would rather complain online, kind of like me I guess? But it's easy to tick them off and they just hate you for the next day or so online. I share a story that happened with an interaction with a parent ending with my picture being taken with their child (I'm still not sure why they did it). Later I found that the friend I told posted online about how they hate their conventionally attractive friends getting harrassed, they feel bad, but thinks they only friend them because they make them look better. Based on the context and how close the proximity of me telling the story and their post that it was about me. I didn't want it to come off like that, and I personally don't feel that way either. I didn't want to tell that story to make them feel inscure. I just couldn't express it to them because I cant let myself get that vulnerable, and also I didn't want them to think I was stocking their posts and accusing them. A follow up post went along the lines of how the unnamed person in their previous post ruined all the plans we had. I had told them yesterday that they could go without me and later on in a groupchat it was found that a friend's mom wouldn't let her go anyway. It was dark so I offered for the both of us to be driven home by my dad, which they said nothing about until we both walk out the building towards the car. They then refuse to let me drive them home and chose to walk. I asked multiple times if they were sure and that I want them to be safe, after more talk I eventually gave up and let them walk. I have a feeling that they're currently just complaining to the rest of the friend group behind my back. I don't want to lose them, but living without answers is actually ruining me. I suck at communication too, so everything is just even worse. I understand where they're coming from, but I really can't deal with this

...See more Currently not even a month into junior year of high school and so much has already happened. I can just tell my friends are tired of my problems even when I try my best to not bring them up. Ive had a feeling for some time now they they hate me and will try to shut me out slowly. They communicate differently than I do, using slang and references I don't get, and even when I do I dare not to say because it feels wrong coming from me. It's in the way they talk to me, it either ends up in me feeling humiliated or put down and I can't tell if it's just they way they talk to those close to them as a lot of the time people joke like that. I just can't read the tones properly and always feel like the hate felt is genuine to skme degree. When I'm left with one friend or the other I can't bring the same joy that they being each other. I'm not enough and I feel left out, envious almost and I know that makes me sound selfish. I want it to stop but I can't, I want to be treated the way they treat wach other, but I can't show emotion through text and I can't decipher tones when speaking in person. I know it's on me for not being able to communicate, but I can't bring myself to just staright up and ask "do you hate me?" I feel desperate and stupid for being like this. I can't bring myself to, and what if they aren't even mad and ive been spiraling for months on something I thought was going on??? I can't even describe every to the fullest extent because of how bad I am at communicating. I hate that I can't. I want the overthinking to stop with either getting an answer or just forgetting about it, but everything that happens when I'm woth them just keeps reminding me and I get pushed into a bad mood.

I’m someone who genuinely loves listening. Not because I think I have all the answers I definitely don’t! but because I believe sometimes what we need most is simply a person who will stay, listen, and try to understand. 🌸 🦋 My listening style My approach to listening is very much centered around validation, empathy, patience, and understanding. I’m not here to tell you what you should do or immediately try to fix everything. Instead, I like to give you space to talk about what is actually going on inside your head and heart. Sometimes that means asking gentle, open-ended questions. Sometimes it means reflecting something back to you. Sometimes it means sitting with you in the messy feelings without trying to make them disappear. And sometimes… you just need to say, “Today was awful,” and have someone respond with, “Yeah, that sounds really hard.” And that's okay too. 🤍 You don't have to make your feelings sound reasonable before you share them with me. You don't have to apologize for taking up space. You don't have to worry about being “too much.” You are allowed to show up exactly as you are. 🌼 A little about my journey here Over time, I’ve had the opportunity to take on quite a few different roles within the 7 Cups community. I’ve been a Verified Listener, Peer Supporter, Adult Teen Listener (ATL), Chat Supporter, Listener Chatroom Supporter, Chatroom Mentor, Community Leader, Listener Verifier, Teen Chatroom Mentor, Community Moderator, Smile Spreader, and part of the Listener Coaching Team. I’ve also had the opportunity to mentor and support other listeners, including helping newer listeners find their footing and feel more confident in their own listening journeys. Every role has taught me something different, but one thing has stayed the same through all of them: I really, really love being here. 🫶🏻 I love watching someone come into a chat feeling completely overwhelmed and slowly feel a little lighter after being heard. My mom and middle sister

...See more A year ago my sister had a stress attack and since then everything has changed more than it already was. She was in the hospital for about a week and my mother was very worried, now she treats her differently than she treats me and my older sister.I mean, she favors her more, since I was little I was seen as a child who wouldn't be an example because I didn't like studying at school and my mother thought I wouldn't even make it to high school(im the youngest sister).Now, nowadays, if she starts an argument or talks to me in a bad way, it's all my fault in my mother's eyes, everything I do is wrong, yesterday we had an argument about how I dress because I had to go to the dermatologist and I dressed basic and obviously she didn't say anything to my sister about it, she told her that she dressed nicely (i was wearing a gray top and some wide leg pants) and I didn't understand what was wrong with that, but when I confronted her about how she was favoring her more, she got really angry.She denied everything exactly as I expected her to do and I left it at that until she calmed down because I also had a cold and I didn't feel like arguing.I don't understand why parents favor their children and when they do something wrong they tend to yell at them for things they did years ago even though they are completely different people now. Ever since I was little I was seen as someone who didn't care about anyone's feelings or anything, but what my mother didn't know was that I cried at night when everyone was sleeping until she found my diary where I wrote that I wanted to k### myself (this was a few years before this thing with my sister) and she changed a bit her perspective about me but now its way worse.It feels like my middle sister just likes the attention and everytime i dont keep my mouth shut im still the wrong one.I honestly don't know how i didn't k### myself yet bc trough 2021-2025 i went trough a horrible depression about stress,school,exes and just being lonely and not finding someone who just sees trough me and who loves me.Idk what to say anymore,what do yall think about it?Also thank you for reading all of this ❤️

...See more Guys, my life has become more exhausting day after day. I started working when I was 14 years old, and I have continued working until this day. I am now 20 years old. I work around 14 to 15 hours a day. I wake up at 5:00 a.m., before sunrise, and usually finish work around 8:00 p.m. After work, it takes me another 30 to 40 minutes to get home. I work six days a week, and sometimes I work all seven days. The hardest part is that my salary is very low. It is not enough to solve the many problems and responsibilities I have. I work extremely long hours, but I still feel like I am not getting anywhere. Sometimes I feel physically and mentally exhausted, but I keep going because I need to support myself and help my family. Another painful part of my life is the difficulty of finding opportunities. In my experience, finding a good job in Somalia is not always based on how experienced or qualified you are. Clan and tribal identity can have a major influence on opportunities. Even someone with a university degree can struggle to find a job if they do not belong to a powerful or majority clan. Because I come from a minority community, I have experienced and witnessed discrimination. Sometimes before people even get to know your personality or your character, they ask you which clan you belong to. If you tell them you are from a minority community, their attitude can suddenly change. Some people humiliate us insult our ancestors, or make us feel ashamed of our identity. There are also situations where people from minority communities can face difficulties when trying to rent a home or move to a new area because they may be asked for a guarantor or face other barriers. I have also witnessed situations in schools where minority students were treated unfairly or punished even when they were not guilty. One of the most painful things is the fear that discrimination creates in people's hearts. Sometimes, people feel they have to hide their real identity or even claim a clan identity that does not belong to them simply to avoid humiliation or trouble in public. I have also seen how difficult relationships can become when people come from different clan backgrounds. In some families and communities, falling in love with someone from a different clan can create serious conflict and even put people's safety at risk. That is why many people have to be extremely careful about their personal relationships. I am tired of living with these limitations and constantly feeling that my future depends on things I cannot control. But despite everything I have experienced, I was raised by good parents, and I still believe that my life can become better. I do not want to spend my whole life working extremely long hours for a very low salary with no clear path forward. I want an opportunity to learn, work, grow, and build a better future. I want to prove what I can do based on my character, determination, and abilitie ot simply where I come from. I am still young and I still have dreams. I hope that one day I will find a better job, build a good life, and have the opportunity to meet people who will see me for who I truly am. Right nowI feel stuck in my country, with very limited opportunities and sometimes very little hope. But I am still trying. I have not given up on my future.
